The residents of this state are at risk for flooding throughout the entire year. There are hurricanes and inland moving tropical storms, which cause a continual chance of flooding throughout both the summer and fall. Heavy rainstorms are the culprits during the winter and spring.
For information on how to prepare for flooding for any other natural disasters, contact FEMA Public Affairs at (202) 646-4600.
