Our View
Although Atmore is continuing to grow with additions to the town, such as the Rivercane project and Walgreens, it will continue to be the quaint place we all know and love.
Monterrey's is coming to town soon, which will be another establishment to dine at.
Although the details of Monterrey's have not been released to the Advance, it is known that it will be a Mexican restaurant located on South Main Street.
The Atmore Advance will keep the community updated on the progress of the new restaurant.
There will also be a fruit and vegetable stand opening on North Main Street, which will be called The Garden of Eden.
The Garden of Eden will sell fresh fruits and vegetables. It will be a charming establishment that will be great for the hot summer days full of eating watermelons, apples and drinking lemonade.
Just because Atmore is getting larger, it does not mean it is going to lose it's old-fashioned, small-town charm.
Establishments that have been around for ages will still be here to remind us where we came from, such as The Strand Theater, Earle's Jewelers, Swift Supply, Buster's Restaurant and Edgar's Business Machines.
Keep our local establishments in your thoughts. but also support the new businesses and the city's growth.
