RPES preps for registration
Kindergarten registration for Rachel Patterson Elementary School will be held Friday, April 13 and Thursday, April 26 from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Please have the following papers to register your child:
Students must be 5 years old by September 1st to enter school.

Hikers raising money for kids
Hikers raising money for "Log-a-Load For Kids" will be at the old Ace Hardware building off of Hwy. 31 around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.
"Log-a-Load" is an organization that raises money for the two children's hospitals in Alabama.
The three hikers will be traveling from Mobile to Birmingham, stopping for John Swift's Wild Bunch Butt Burners sausage and Pepsi(r) products Wednesday.
Anyone can come enjoy the cuisine and give a donation for USA Children and Women's Hospital in Mobile or the Children's Hospital in Birmingham.
Atmore Apostolic luncheon today
Atmore Apostolic Church will be serving lunch after their morning service on Sunday, March 11.
The meal will consist of spaghetti, green beans, salad, rolls, dessert and tea and will be available for $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. Serving will begin at around 11:30. Meals can be taken out or eaten in the church dining hall.
The public is invited.
Rev. Shuford service scheduled today
The Pastor and members of Zion Star A.M.E. Zion Church invite everyone to come and worship the Lord with the congregation in the Installation Service for the Rev. Humphrey Shuford on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Claude Shuford will bring the message.
Historical Society meeting March 19
The Atmore Historical Society will meet Monday March 19 at 6 p.m. at the Peavy-Webb Building in Heritage Park. The Peavy-Webb building is located on the corner of S. Main and Craig streets, directly across from St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church parsonage.
This will be the last regularly scheduled meeting before Atmore's Centennial Celebration in May. Members are urged to attend. Guests are always welcome.
Anyone interested in helping preserve Atmore's past for future generations, please contact AHS President Byard Swift at 368-3742.
Historical Society "Show &Tell"
The Escambia County Historical Society will have a "Show &Tell" Program at its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 27 at 3:15 p.m. at the Thomas E. McMillan Museum on the Brewton campus of JDCC.
The public is invited to attend and bring an item of historical interest.
Softball registration begins in March
Girls fast pitch softball registration for Atmore Babe Ruth League will be at Elite Sporting Goods, 216 N. Main St, on any of the following mornings: March 10, 17, or 24 from 9 a.m. until noon. Birth certificates are required for first time players. Girls ages 8-16 and costs are $45.
For exercise, skill developments and just plain fun, come join us with your friends and make some new ones!
Also seeking coaches and volunteers. $10 refund to those who volunteer.
A.M.E. Gospel Choir anniversary March 18

Faith Pentecostal appreciation day
Faith Pentecostal will host an appreciation day for overseer Bishop Purvis McMillan from March 7 through March 9 at 7:30 p.m. The last day will be Sunday, March 11th at 3 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come and celebrate the Bishop's 19th anniversary.
Martinville Baptist Homecoming April 1
Pastor Sonny Willingham and congregation invite everyone to Homecoming on Sunday, April 1 at Martinville Baptist Church. Morning message at 11 a.m. will be followed by dinner on the grounds and an afternoon singing featuring Caleb Dennis and Friends, The Gloryland Singers and other local talent.
From Atmore, take Hwy. 21 north, go right on Martinville Loop or Martinville Circle and the church is on the right.

JDCC ballroom dance lessons begin in April
Jefferson Davis Community College will host ballroom dance lessons.
Beginning Social Rumba will start Thursday, March 8 through Thursday, April 12. Times will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Beginning Social Cha-Cha will start Tuesday, March 6 through Tuesday, April 10. Times will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
All classes will last for six weeks.

Christian Care needs your help
Atmore Area Christian Care gave food to 44 people last week. The following items we are very short on now are – peanut butter, salmon, tuna, chicken and dumplings, canned fruit, sugar, pasta, macaroni and cheese, dry beans and peas.
We can always use volunteers. Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until noon.

The event will feature games and food.
Admission is $5 per person. Children 14 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
