The Atmore Dragway will have a special treat in store for all spectators Sunday. Edmond Hall's Baby Pro-Mods will be in town for the racing excitement at the track.
"Having Edmond here should draw a large crowd," Dragway general manager Jonathan Thompson said. "He has a pretty good following from around this area."
Hall is from the Montgomery area and has made several appearances at the Atmore Dragway through the years.
"Whenever he came back last time, he didn't have as good a turnout as he normally does, but I think that will change this week," Thompson said.
Thompson said the past few weekends at the track are also a good indication that this weekend will be a good one for the Dragway.
"We have been having some good turnouts for the past couple weeks and we are looking forward to a great weekend," he said.
One of the biggest grudge races going on the past few weeks has been the battle of B.W. Bishop running against Junior Grissett and Thompson said Richard Lee and Noble Gooden should be a grudge match to pay attention to at a future race.
That race is the Monsters Race July 1 at the track. There will be many events and race divisions taking place that weekend as well. Thompson said there would also be a band playing at the end of the day. Further details on the Monsters Race will appear as they become available.
As for this weekend, the gates open at 10 a.m., the qualifying rounds are set for noon and the races will begin at 2:30 p.m.
