Atmore T-Ball hits full swing

The Atmore T-Ball League kicked off its season Saturday with a parade from the Atmore Area YMCA and Community Center across Main Street and into the T-Ball fields behind Heritage Park.
After the parade the Opening Ceremonies took place and many Atmore citizens were on hand to enjoy the grand ol' day at the ballpark. And following all the festivities, the first games of the season were played and the children ran the scores up on each other.
Here are the results:
Falcons 18 – James Gang 12
The Alto Products Falcons took down the Atmore Insurance James Gang 18-12 in the season opener.
James Lewis, Anthony Betts Jr., Tucker Spence and Louie Turner IV each scored three runs for the Falcons. Christian Cox scored two runs. Mercades Hall, John Dirden III, Zydaja Brown and William Bradley Jr. each scored one run.
For the James Gang, Antonio Holt scored three runs, Jaylyn Lee scored two runs and Calissa Wiggins, Jack Edwards, Willie Pittman, Bryant Quimby, Mitchell Faulk, John Montgomery and Jeffery Wilson each scored one run.
Scramblers 29 – Shockers 24
The Huddle House Scramblers defeated the Tri-Co Electric Shockers 29-24 in the second game of the day Saturday.
Maggie Lane led the scoring for the Scramblers with six runs scored. Adrian King and Jabe Dawe each added four runs scored. Ashtyn Presley and Jackson Bonner crossed the plate three times each. Blaze Bryant, Don Moore, Reagan Chance and Christopher Bell each scored two runs apiece and Alaina Hodges scored one run.
For the Shockers Deonta led the scoring with five runs scored. Noah Black and Collinger Daughtry each had four runs scored. Marquez Gaines and Jaylen Black had three runs scored. Kenneth Craft Jr. scored two runs and Austin Walker, Ian Fannin and Cadarius Smith scored one run.
Eagles 24 – Blue Flames 23
In the closest game of the day, the Winn-Dixie Eagles slashed the Atmore Utilities Blue Flames, 24-23.
Delarrian Poole Jr. and Kuron Frye led the way with four runs scored each for the Eagles. Jared Gibbs, Brandon Gulsby, Cortez Martin and Li'Terrance McCants each had three runs scored. Craig Brown scored two runs and LaDainian Dailey and Ja'Maya Frye each scored one run.
Eric McCaskill, Evan Tatum and TyQaveon Reynolds each scored three runs for the Blue Flames. Demetrius Crenshaw, Lauren Metzler, Jamie Welker, Darriona Nichols, Zaria Smith and Garrett Smith each had two runs scored. Cullen Bowmen scored one run.
Falcons 16 – Shockers 14
On Monday the Falcons defeated the Shockers 16-14.
Tucker Spence scored three runs to lead the Falcons in scoring. Mercades Hall, Fredrick Flavors, James Lewis, Anthony Betts Jr. and Zydaja Brown each added two runs. Chance James, Louis Turner IV and William Bradley Jr. each added one run apiece.
For the Shockers, Marquez Gaines led the way with three runs scored. Noah Black, Collinger Daughtry, Austin Walker, Emma Sasser and Deonta had two runs scored each. Jaylen Black scored one run.
Eagles 18 – Scramblers 17
The Eagles had their second one-run decision in as many games Monday, as they took down the Scramblers 18-17.
Jared Gibbs and Brandon Gulsby led the Eagles with three runs scored apiece. Abigail Smith, Jamaya Frye, Delarrien Poole and Craig Brown each scored two runs. Li'Terrance McCants, Sara Rolin, Kuron Frye and Cortez Martin added one run each.
The players who scored for the Scramblers were not made available to the Advance by the coach.
