Hundreds will gather together Sunday to take part in a pre-Centennial photo opportunity.
The Centennial photo was scheduled for April 1 at 2 p.m. but inclement weather was the cause of the change of date.
According to Shelly Williams with the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce, the picture will take place at the same time and location as previously scheduled.
"The picture will be this Sunday at 2 p.m.," Williams said. "It is the same time and location as before."
People interested in being in the photo should gather in front of the Atmore Post Office building before 2 p.m. Sunday.
Atmore area residents will form a 1-0-0 to commemorate the 100th birthday of the city, which will be May 23. The people who will make up the 1-0-0 were sent an invitation by mail although any resident is welcome to come and take part of the picture. The individuals not in the 1-0-0 will frame the photo.
"People are invited to come be a part of the frame," Williams said.
Williams said that if there are any last minute changes or directions, they will be posted online or individuals can call the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce.
"Any last minute instructions will be on the Chamber Web site at atmorechamber.com," she said. "Or a message will be left on a voice message at the Chamber office at 368-3305."
Also, the Chamber of Commerce is selling Centennial shirts that will be available while supplies last. Shirts can be purchased at the Chamber office located in the Atmore Area YMCA &Community Center. Sizes small, medium, large and XL are available for $12 and sizes 2X and 3X are available for $14.
