Winning is good for any program and the Escambia Academy golf team did just that Monday. They won a home tournament at the Atmore Country Club against Faith Academy, Monroe Academy and Sparta Academy.
Bradley Flowers won the tournament with a score of 81 and Tyler Brown and Andrew Howell were right on his heels with scores of 82 and 85, respectively. Brown and Howell finished second and third behind Flowers.
Other scores for the Cougars were a 104 for Josh Daniel, a 110 for Tanner Kirk, a 120 for Jordan Sasser and a 121 for Chase Jaye.
The win in the tournament qualified the Cougars to compete in the team state competition April-May 1.
The team's next tournament is scheduled for April 16 at the Atmore Country Club. They will also compete in two other tournaments before the state competition at the end of the month.
