Barrett Ngozi Finney
ATMORE – Barrett Ngozi Finney passed away on April 21, 2007. Barrett was a gift from God given to Patricia Finney Burks and Rev. Emma Niyi Efienokwu in Atlanta Nov. 28, 1983. He relocated with his mother and siblings to Brewton in August 1985. He loved life, family and the Lord. The Lord called him home on April 21, 2007.
Barrett was educated in the Escambia County Alabama School system. He played in the marching band and was a star basketball player through his senior year. He graduated from Escambia County High School in 2002 and attended Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton.
He leaves to celebrate his life: one son, Barrett Ngozi Finney, Jr.; parents, Patricia Finney Burks, Frank Burks, Sr. and Rev. Emma Niyi Efienokwu; devoted grandparents, Lee, Sr. and Mary Alice Finney of Atmore; sisters, Jada Shantrice Finney of Atmore, Jameka Collins, Shantae (Terry) King, Andrea Godbolt, all of Brewton; cousin close-as-a-sister, Brandi Frye of Tuscaloosa; brothers, Christopher Burks of Atmore, Chibusor Efienokwu of Festace, Lagos, Jeremy Collins, Frank (Melissa) Collins, friend as a brother, Brandon Tanner, all of Atmore; aunts, Rebecca (Austin) Thompson of Atmore, Rachelle Garrett of Atlanta, Geraldine Smith of Atmore. Barbara (Frank) Green, Toretha (Willie) McCants, Carolyn (Joseph) Johnson and Cindi (Luther) Jackson, all of Brewton; uncles, Charles Finney, Glenn Finney of Akron, Ohio, Lee Finney, Jr. of Atmore, Michael Finney of Montgomery; special friend and devoted mother of his child, Hannah Blackwell, special friend, Dominique Sanders and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Greater Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church with overseer Quillas Mitchell officiating.
Visitation was held from noon until funeral time at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers were brother and cousins.
Flowerbearers were family, friends and the class of 2002.
Honorary pallbearers: (Golden Road Boys), Kendrick Williams, Roderick Williams, Mykal Mitchell, Christopher Burks, William Charles Lewis, Brandon Turner.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mattie Delores Harris Bolling
CENTURY, FLA. – Mrs. Mattie Delores Harris Bolling, 95, of Century, met her Lord Jesus Christ on April 22, 2007. Mrs. Harris passed away in Jay Hospital. Mattie was born on Oct. 15, 1911 in Fort Deposit. She with her family moved to Century, Fla. when she was two years old.
Mother Mattie was one of the founding members of Edward Point Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she faithfully served on the Usher Board, Church Mission, Sunday School Teacher, and an active member of her community participating in many social and community activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. George Harris, Mrs. Maggie Warren Harris, her husband, Dr. Cazie James Bolling, Sr., and her children, Gwendolyn Bolling, Mrs. Marve Lee (Marie) Williams, Lenel Bolling.
Survivors include, her son, Cazie James Bolling, Jr. of Century, Fla.; her daughters, Carolyn Bolling and Joan Cooper of Century, Fla.; her son-in-law, John C. Williams; her grandchildren, Patricia (Diane) Archie, Lynette Walker, Clarence Bolling, Joyce Hardy, Cazie Bolling, III, Tracey Galloway, Abdullah Bashshar, Valerie Lorde, Terrie Abernathy, and Valerie Milligan; 28 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Lee Bass of Century, Fla.
A homecoming celebration was held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Edward Point Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Century, Fla. with Rev. Lamar Randall and Pastor Dwayne Thomas officiating. Interment followed at Century Cemetery.
The family received friends at Edward Point Christian Church on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Burial was held in Century Cemetery.
Christian Memorial Funeral home is in charge of all arrangements.
Tracey Lynn "Bubba" Price
POARCH – Mr. Tracey Lynn "Bubba" Price, 35, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mr. Price was a native of Pensacola, Fla., a former resident of Carriere, Miss. and a resident of Poarch for the past four years. He attended St. Anna's Episcopal Church and was predeceased in death by a brother, George Robert Price, Jr.
Survivors include, his parents, George and Helen Holland Price of Poarch; two brothers, Burleigh Lee Price of Cape Charles, Va., and Michael C. Price of Carriere, Miss.; three sisters, Hope Louise Brady of Cape Charles, Va., Jennifer Marie Price of Picayune, Miss., and April Ann Smith of Carriere, Miss. and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Milledge Baker officiating.
Burial followed at Judson/ Creek Indian Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday, April 27, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Jerry Waine Waller
ATMORE – Mr. Jerry Waine Waller, 60, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at a local hospital.
Mr. Waller was a native of Waynesboro, Miss., a former resident of Wayne County, Miss., and a resident of Atmore for the past 21 years. He was an office manager for Kelly Brothers Contractors and attended the Holiness Church. Predeceased in death by his father, John Waller, a brother, Judson Daniel Waller and a grandchild, Elizabeth Ann Waller.
Survivors include: his wife, Terri Waller of Atmore; his mother, Miranda Waller of Strengthford Communtiy, Miss; two sons, Louis and Ronda Waller of Lighthouse Point, Fla., and Jerry Lee and Stacy Waller of Knobnoster, Mo.; his daughter, Carol Chancellor of Waynesboro, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Mandy and Jason Bondurant of Flomaton and Tiffany Emmons of Atmore; two grandchildren, Mckensie Chancellor and Lane Chancellor; two brothers, Clifford and Myra Waller of Buckatunna, Miss., and Max and Melinda Waller of Waynesboro, Miss. and a sister, Lois and Dion McLain of Waynesboro, Miss.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
