Tigers clip Cardinals

Tristan McAnally and the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers took down the Atmore Lions Club Cardinals 8-6 May 7.
McAnally was 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and three runs scored from the leadoff spot.
The Tigers took a 2-0 lead into the third inning on two runs scored by McAnally before the Cards plated five runs in the inning to grab a 5-2 lead. Scoring in the third for the Cards were, Alex Rice, Derrick, Phillip Myrick, Devontae Stephens and Jamey Vaughn.
The Tigers added one run in the fourth when Jacolby Ulmer scored and five in the fifth with McAnally, Scott Brantley, Blake Quimby, Justin Smith and Clay Walker each scoring one run.
Brandon Metzler scored in the sixth inning for the Cards. Quimby and Tristan McAnally pitched for the Tigers and Jordan Sasser pitched a complete game for the Cards.
Red Sox 6 – Warriors 5
The Joey's Furniture Red Sox won a close game against the United Bank Warriors 6-5 Monday.
Coby Smith and Tanner Smith each scored two runs for the victorious Red Sox and Logan Smith and Casey Jackson added one run apiece.
Brodie Amos and Brett Helton scored two runs each for the Warriors and Dalton Daniels added one run.
On the mound for the Red Sox was Tanner Smith, who registered five strikeouts in six inning of work. Aaron McDonald and Paul Arnold toed the rubber for the Warriors.
Rangers 13 – Tigers 11
In a slugfest the Atmore Veterans of Foreign Wars Rangers defeated the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers 13-11 on Opening Day of Atmore Cal Ripken J. Major League action.
The victorious Rangers saw three runs scored by D'man McCarthey, AJ Matthews and Bo Bishop. Austin Albritton, Dustin Lindsey, Brice McGhee and Drake McGhee each scored one run.
Nolan McAnally scored three runs for the Rangers. Justin Hiebert scored two runs and Scott Brantley, Tristan McAnally, Blake Quimby, Jacolby Ulmer, Jacorian Shiver and Justin Smith each scored one run.
Tristan McAnally and Brantley toed the rubber for the Tigers and Brett McCraney, Drake McGhee, Bo Bishop and Harold Harrison saw action on the mound for the Rangers.
Warriors 10 – Athletics 4
In other Opening Day action, the United Bank Warriors took down the First National Bank &Trust Athletics 10-4.
Brodie Amos, Paul Arnold, Brett Helton and Aaron McDonald each scored in the first inning and Arnold and Helton each scored one more run in the second inning. DyQwan Lee also scored in the second and added another run scored in the fourth inning. McDonald scored again in the fifth inning and Wesley Jefferson also crossed the plate in the inning.
For the A's Fred Knight scored two runs and Malcolm Black and Scottie Lambert each scored one run.
Brett Helton, Paul Arnold and Aaron McDonald pitched for the Warriors and Trey McGhee, JP Sawyer and Garrett Kirk pitched for the A's.
Red Sox 7 – Cardinals 5
The Joey's Furniture Red Sox defeated the Atmore Lions Club Cardinals in the opening game on Opening Day, 7-5.
Chance Jackson scored two runs and pitched three innings on the mound for the Red Sox. Colby Smith, Logan Smith, Clayton Vickrey, Tanner Smith and Jacob Esser each scored one run. Logan Smith started the game on the mound.
For the Cards, Perry Metzler scored two runs and Jordan Sasser, Will Swartzendruber and Alex Rice each crossed the plate once. Brandon Metzler and Sasser toed the rubber.
Minor
Cubs 4 – Tigers 3
The Chuck Stevens Chevrolet Cubs took down the Kirk Insurance Agency Tigers 4-3 Monday night.
Xan McGhee led the Cubs with two runs scored. Tim Finklea and Tristan Agerton added one run scored apiece.
Devante scored two runs for the Tigers and Blake added one additional run.
Yankees 13 – Lions 5
Aaron Salter, Arri Torres, Reggie Tolbert and Rashawn Flavors led the Alto Products Yankees over the Swift Supply Lions 13-5 Monday night. Each player scored two runs in the Yankees' win.
Marlon Lee, Tom Rolin, Eric Williams, Noah Brooks and Darien Abrons each added one run scored.
Cadarius Smith, Travares Groom, Johnny Stephens, Denver Shuttlesworth and Ben Hubert each scored one run for the Lions.
Cardinals 3 – Tigers 1
The Atmore Vision Center Cardinals slid by the Kirk Insurance Agency Tigers 3-1 on Opening Day of Atmore Cal Ripken Jr. Minor League action May 5.
Billy Powell scored two runs for the Cardinals and Thomas Boothe added one run scored.
Jimmy was the lone run for the Tigers.
Cubs 14 – Yankees 7
In a game that saw 21 runs scored, the Chuck Stevens Chevrolet Cubs defeated the Alto Products Yankees 14-7.
Timothy Fink and Xan McGhee each scored three runs in the victory for the Cubs. Cameron Macks and Trae Thompson added two runs scored and Nytorious Cooler, Orenthal McGhee, Stephen Gehman and James Richerson each added one run scored.
Eric Williams and Noah Brooks scored twice for the Yankees and Arri Torres, Thomas Rolin and Reggie Tolbert added one run scored each.
Cardinals 12 – Lions 1
The Atmore Vision Center Cardinals defeated the Swift Supply Lions 12-1 on Opening Day.
Steven Wilson, Billy Powell, Malik McMillian and Jacob Gibbs scored two runs for the Cardinals in the win. Devon Robinson, Brad Quimby, Darren Landis and David Dobson each added one run scored apiece.
Denver Shuttlesworth scored the lone run for the Lions.
