Payne sentenced to 21 years in prinson

Sentencing for former Escambia County Middle School teacher Victor Labraon Payne was held Wednesday at the Escambia County Courthouse.
Payne will be serving 21 years in prison following the conviction of a jury on charges of rape, second degree; sexual abuse, second degree; and enticing a minor for immoral purposes.
Judge Bradley Byrne sentenced Payne to 180 months (15 years) on the rape, second-degree charge and 60 months (5 years) on the charge of enticing a minor for immoral purposes. The sentence for the two charges would be served with the Alabama Department of Corrections. On the charge of sexual abuse, second degree, which is a misdemeanor, was sentenced to 12 months (1 year) in the Escambia County Jail.
