Warriors edge Tigers Thursday

The United Bank Warriors squeezed by the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers 9-6 May 31 in Atmore Cal Ripken Major League action.
Aaron McDonald and Brett Helton scored three runs apiece to lead the Warriors, Paul Arnold scored two runs and DyQuan Lee added one run scored.
For the Tigers, Tristan McAnally, Blake Quimby, Justin Hiebert, Jacolby Ulmer, Justin Smith and Bo Ramer each scored one run.
Rangers 14 Athletics 4
The Atmore VFW Rangers took down the First National Bank &Trust Athletics in grand fashion May 31, 14-4.
D'man McCarthy led the Rangers with three runs scored. A.J. Matthews, Drake McGhee and Tyler Sanspree each added two runs scored. Harold Harrison, Gage White, Kyler McGlotheren, Austin Shuttlesworth and Brice McGhee crossed the plate once.
David Johnson scored two runs for the A's and Fred Knight and Garrett Kirk added one run apiece.
Red Sox 13 Athletics 1
The Joey's Furniture Red Sox were fueled by Clayton Vickrey's three runs scored May 29 as they defeated the FNB&T Athletics 13-1.
Tanner Smith, Colby Smith, Dustin Mack and Casey Jackson each scored two runs for the Red Sox. Tanner Plant and Logan Smith added one run scored apiece.
For the A's, Malcolm Black scored one run.
Cardinals 6 Rangers 2
The Atmore Lions Club Cardinals took down the VFW Rangers 6-2 May 29.
Brandon Metzler and Aaron Purvis led the Cardinals with two runs scored apiece and David Landis and Perry Metzler each added one run scored.
Kyler McGlotheren was the lone scoring threat for the Rangers, scoring both of the team's runs.
Minor
Cardinals 14 Lions 2
Billy Powell and Steven Wilson each scored four runs and the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals defeated the Swift Supply Lions 14-2 May 31 in Atmore Cal Ripken Minor League action.
Malik McMillan and Brad Quimby added two runs scored for the Cards and Darren Landis and Jacob Gibbs each scored one run.
Cadarius Smith and Johnny Stephens each scored one run for the Lions.
Cubs 15 Tigers 14
In the slugfest of the day, the Chuck Stevens Automotive Cubs edged out the Kirk Insurance Agency Tigers 15-4 May 31.
Timothy Finklea scored four runs for the Cubs. Trae Thompson added three runs scored. Cameron Macks and Xan McGhee crossed the plate twice apiece and Nytorious Cooler, Stephen Gehman, Tristan Agerton, Jamal Richardson and Orenthal McGhee each scored one run.
Brandon Cummings, Devante Dailey, Jimmy Overstreet and Danny Crenshaw crossed the plate twice apiece for the Tigers. Jamaya Frye, Dalton Tolbert, Ryan Johnson, Blake Allen, LaDarrian Johnson and Gaetyn Thames each scored one run.
Cubs 10 Yankees 3
On May 29, the Chuck Stevens Cubs took down the Alto Products Yankees 10-3.
Timothy Finklea scored four times for the Cubs, Nytorious Cooler crossed the plate twice and Trae Thompson, Cameron Macks, Xan McGhee and Tristan Agerton each scored one run.
Noah Brooks, Arri Torres and Tom Rolin each scored one run for the Yankees.
Tigers 10 Lions 9
The Swift Supply Lions lost a close game May 29 to the Kirk Insurance Tigers 10-9.
LaDarrian Johnson scored three runs for the Tigers. Brandon Cummings scored two runs and Jamaya Frye, Jimmy Overstreet, Ryan Johnson, Danny Crenshaw and Weston Milstead each added one run scored.
For the Lions, Cadarian Smith, Denver Shuttlesworth and Johnny Stephens each scored two runs. Levi Soloman, Travares Grooms and Benjamin Hubert scored one run apiece.
