In the final game of the season for the Atmore Babe Ruth League 16-18 Pepsi team June 30, they beat down Bay Minette 17-4. The team is 9-2-1.
Ben Hess led Atmore by going 3-for-4 at the plate with one triple and two singles and four runs scored. Corey Flowers was a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Darius English went 2-for-3 and scored three times and Elliot Faircloth added two runs scored. Joe Drew, Ethan Brooks, Eric Coley, Tyler Brown, Cody Vickrey and A.J. Beachy each contributed one run scored.
Brown picked up the win for Atmore, striking out six batters.
Atmore 22 Bay Minette 3
Game one on the same day was more of the same for the Atmore bunch, as they destroyed Bay Minette, 22-3.
Elliot Faircloth, Austin Eicher and Tyler Brown each went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Cody Vickrey and Joe Drew also scored two runs. Vickrey was a perfect 2-for-2 and Drew went 2-for-4.
Corey Flowers was 1-for-4 at the dish, but he scored three runs for Atmore and Eric Coley went 1-for-3 with three runs scored. A.J. Beachy and Darius English each added one run scored.
Coley picked up the win for Atmore on the mound, as he struck out four batters.
