Mobile districts square off

Troy Andrews threw a complete game for Tillman's Corner and struck out 12 Matthew's Park batters en route to a 13-1 victory Friday in the opening game of the Atmore Cal Ripken 70' State Tournament. He also scored a run on the offensive side of the ball.
Tillman's Corner had three players hit a home run, as Christian Purvis went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and two runs scored.
Jonathan Brown and Nick Lowe also hit a home run and scored two runs.
In the first two innings, Tillman's Corner jumped on top with six runs. They added two runs in the fourth inning and five runs in the fifth inning to end the game by mercy rule.
For Matthew's Park, Chad Peters scored one run and took the loss on the mound.
Alexander City 11 Monrovia-National 2
On the other field, Alexander City took care of the Monrovia National team 11-2.
Travis Parish led the way at the plate for Alex City, going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Taylor Wilson went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Tyler Wilson was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Matthew Woody and Lance Brazelton each scored one run for Monrovia.
