Education at Houston Avery
Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ, pastor Hattie Bishop and pastor Bernard Bishop are coming together July 21 for an Educational Fun Day for the youth of Atmore.
The event will be fun for those in attendance with the free food including pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, cotton candy and snow cones and games, including 3-on-3 basketball, softball, tennis and ping-pong.
But, the event is not just about having fun. It will also provide for an educational experience for the youth in this community.
The Escambia County Health Department will be in attendance to hold seminars on health awareness, AIDS, HIV, sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy. Free AIDS testing will be available as well.
Also, Huxford principal Donna Silcox will be speaking at the event about the importance of receiving a good education.
The event will be held at Houston Avery Park and it is a great idea for all the youth in this area to attend.
Any program that teaches children and youth the importance of health awareness as well as the consequences of not getting a good education is a great program.
Parents, hopefully you will support this event by sending your children out for some fun and education.
