NWE dropped in sectionals

The NWE 9 and 10 year olds all-star softball team traveled to Crestview July 14-15 for a sectionals competition. The team took the best-of-three series to the final game, but could not pull it out, losing 21-16 to Ft. Braden.
Julie Hester drew three walks in the game and scored two runs as the leadoff for NWE. Dannielle Steadham was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Reagan Bell went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Kyndall Hall was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored.
Mallory Ryan scored two runs. Morgan Digmon was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Cheyanne Schoonover scored two runs and Madison Arrington scored one run.
NWE 8 Ft. Braden 3
The NWE squad pulled out their only victory of the series Sunday morning with an 8-3 victory over Ft. Braden.
Reagan Bell and Madison Arrington each scored two runs and went 1-for-3 at the plate. Julie Hester, Danielle Steadham, Mallory Ryan and Kyndall Hall each scored one run. Hall went 2-for-3 at the plate.

In a close contest, the NWE girls fell to Ft. Braden 8-6 in the opening game of the sectionals July 14.
NWE scored four runs in the second inning to take a 4-2 lead after Ft. Braden had scored two runs in the first inning. Ft. Braden tied the game in the third inning with two runs and took the lead in the fourth inning with four runs. NWE scored one run in the fourth and one in the fifth, but could not push across the winning run.
Reagan Bell, Madison Arrington, Mallory Ryan, Cheyanne Schoonover, Kyndall Hall and Morgan Digmon each scored one run. Schoonover and Digmon each had one hit.
