Dorothy Willene Mothershed Hall
DAVISVILLE, Fla. – Mrs. Dorothy Willene Mothershed Hall, 81, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at a Santa Rosa County hospital.
Mrs. Hall was a native of Atmore and a resident of Davisville, Fla. for the past 57 years and attended the baptist church. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Howard Hall, and two daughters, Wanda Morrow and Linda Hall.
Survivors include: three sons, Dempsey Hall and Charles Hall, both of Davisville, Fla., and Eugene Hall of Enon, Fla.; seven daughters, Margie Chunn of Atmore, Ruby Waller of Brewton, Lynn Smith of Hartsford, Debbie Youngblood of Jay, Fla., Elizabeth Conway of Little Rock, Missie Stiles of Davisville, Fla., and Jana Bartley of Perdido; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Fred Mothershed, Rev. Gladyn Mothershed, Carl Mothershed and W.D. Mothershed, all of Atmore.
Funeral services will be held today, July 25, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Henry officiating.
Burial will follow in Pinebarren Cemetery.
Visitation was held July 24, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Phillip Moore, Corey Powell, Jeremy McBride, Wesley Woodriff, Shane Conway, David Chunn and Tony Chunn.
Joseph (Joe) Carter
BAY MINETTE – Joseph (Joe) Carter exchanged mortality and got immortality on Monday, July 9, 2007 at a local nursing home. He was born to the union of Will Carter and Ethel (Green) Carter on May 11, 1930 in Old Texas in Monroe County. Both parents preceded him in death. Also preceded him in death was a brother, Willie Carter and grandparents, Marvin and Savannah Green.
Bro. Carter received his early education in the Monroe County School System. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Old Texas. He later moved to Bay Minette and united with Union Baptist Church. He was a long time employee of Standard Furniture Company before moving to White Plains, N.Y. After retiring, he moved back to Bay Minette.
Joe Carter met his sweetheart, Golden McMillan in the early 1950s. He married Golden and their 50-plus years of holy matrimony ended at his death.
Bro. Carter leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Golden Carter; two sons, Samuel Murriell and Edward Carter, all of Bay Minette; one sister-in-law, Dorothy McMillian of Loxley; four grandchildren, Clyde Murriell, Mandrell (Erica) Atchison, Brandi Atchison, and Jessica Brown; three great-grandchildren; two aunts, Mary Etta Mims of Bay Minette and Eddie Lee Johnson of Mobile; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; two devoted cousins, Patricia Green and Lizzie A. Faulkner; a special nephew/ caretaker, Curtis Davis.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Bay Minette with the Rev. Roy Powell officiating and the Rev. D.L. Brown, Pastor.
Interment was held in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were: Herbert Davis, Larry Davis, Curtis Davis, Clyde Murriell, Vincent Davis, Joseph Faulkner, Joshua Faulkner and Barren Thomas.
Flower bearers were family and friends.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
