Lula (Drew) Demko
Mrs. Lula (Drew) Demko, 83, born in Baldwin County, and a resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at her residence. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by, two daughters, Julia D. Hinote of Bay Minette and Karan D. (Jim( Lewis) of Stockton; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren- two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Murray Edward Drew of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn. and Edson Drew of Mobile and her sister, Marie Drew Wooten of Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Demko and son, Charles Douglas Demko.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Luker officiating. Interment will follow Monday, July 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
The family received friends, Friday, July 27, 2007 from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Baldwin County, 311 D'Olive St., Bay Minette, AL 36507 or to the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home.
Robert L. McGriff
Mr. Robert L. McGriff, 64, a resident of Atmore, formerly lived in Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School, of Dayton. Mr. McGriff also served in the United States Air Force. He retired from 10 years of service at General Motor Company and was an Orderly at Atmore Community Hospital as well. He was a member of Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Albert McGriff, one daughter, Ms. Tracy L. McGriff and one brother, William Lucas.
He is survived by, his mother, Mrs. Ethel Lucas of Atmore; two daughters, Mrs. Lytwaive (Benjamin) Hutchinson of Woodbridge, Va. and Ms. Yolanda McGriff of Atmore; one son, Robert D. (Keena) McGriff of Dayton, Ohio and one brother, Mr. Charles (Kathy) Lucas of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Hawthorne, pastor, officiating. Interments was held in Stallworth Cemetery. His body lied instate one hour prior to the funeral service with Turner Funeral Chapel of Atmore directing.
