First National Bank &Trust's Mark Clayton has recently been promoted and is enjoying his new title as assistant vice president.
"I'm pleased with it (the promotion) and appreciate it," Clayton said.
Clayton has been working at FNB&Trust since January, 2004 and was promoted to assistant vice president last week.
Clayton said his job responsibilities will stay the same.
"Before (the promotion) and still, I do commercial loans and I'm collections manager," he said.
When Clayton began working at FNB&Trust, he started as business development manager.
"The bank has done a lot of transitions and has moved people around to different positions since then," he said.
Before working at the bank, Clayton worked the Panhandle, from Pensacola, Fla., to Panama City, Fla., for Full Spectrum Lending, a sub-prime mortgage company.
Lee Dabbs, FNB&Trust vice president and senior lending officer, said promoting Clayton to assistant vice president was a good decision for the bank.
"It was a good move, he's a hard worker and it was a good move in behalf of the bank," Dabbs said.
Dabbs said the decision to move Clayton was because of his determination to do a good job at the bank.
"He's done an outstanding job as a collection officer while still carrying a loan portfolio," he said. "We decided to promote him because of his hard work as doing a good job as collections officer and loan officer. We all feel very good about it."
Dabbs said the difference in Clayton's responsibilities is that he is now an officer at the bank.
"He was not an officer of the bank before," Dabbs said. "He was an employee, now he is an officer."
Clayton said that for the time he has worked at FNB&Trust he has enjoyed the Atmore community and the employees at the bank.
"I've enjoyed working at the bank for almost four years," he said. "I enjoy the bank and the community.
