Anne Opiary Roman
DAPHNE – Mrs. Anne Opiary Roman, 94, a former longtime resident of Sparrow Bush, N.Y., and a resident of The Meadows in Atmore, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Mercy Medical Hospice in Daphne.
Born in Kosice, Czechoslovakia, on April 13, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Opiary and Mary (Penyak) Opiary Krull, who resided in Freeland.
She retired from Kolmar Laboratories in Port Jervis, N.Y. She was active in the Hiking Club and line dancing in Port Jervis. She was a member of the choir at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Atmore and also attended the McRae Street Methodist Church in Atmore.
Her beloved husband, Clarence A. Roman, her sisters, Veronica Opiary of East Orange, NJ; and Mary Kovach of Allentown, Pa.; her parents, Joseph and Mary Opiary Krull of Freeland, Pa. All preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her son, James J. (Dorothy) Roman of Station, N.Y.; her daughter, Marianne R. (Jim) Eddins of Perdido; her brother, Joseph (Mary) Opiary of Broomall, Pa.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends..
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2007 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Good Shepard Church in Drums, Pa. at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery in Drums, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial be made to the Mercy Medical Hospice, P.O. Box 1090, Daphne, 36526.

Preston Earl Bryan Sr.
POPLAR DELL – Mr. Preston Earl Bryan Sr., 80, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at a Pensacola, Fla. hospital.
Mr. Bryan was a native of Bluff Springs, Fla. and a resident of Poplar Dell for the past 48 years. He was retired from Container Corporation Paper Mill after 28 years, a loving family man and avid motor home traveler and attended the Bratt First Baptist Church.
His father, Mr. Clarence Bryan preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 59 years, Pansy Bryan of Poplar Dell, Fla.; three sons, Preston E. and Willene Bryan Jr. of Byrneville, Fla.; John Bryan of Milton, Fla.; and Terry D. (Sheila) Bryan of Bratt, Fla.; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Mamie Bryan of Century, Fla.; two Brothers, W.A. Bryan of Poplar Dell, Fla.; and Kenneth Bryan of Walnut Hill, Fla.; three sisters, Eloise Howell of Century, Fla.; Jeanette Hurst of Pensacola, Fla.; and Juanita Hubacher of Lillian.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sep. 11, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Interment followed at the Byrneville cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Heath Bryan, Jeremy Bryan, Kevin Bryan, Jeff Laborde, Alton Hammac and Miles Hammac.
Honorary pallbearers were his Sunday School class.
Peggy Daniel
BAY MINETTE – Mrs. Peggy Daniel, 38, of Bay Minette died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at U.S.A Medical Center. Christian Memorial Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Master LaDarian Johnson
BAY MINETTE – Master LaDarian Johnson, 8, of Bay Minette, died at his residence on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007.
He was a native and resident of Bay Minette. He attended Bay Minette Elementary School and was in the second grade.
Survivors include his mother, Cynthia Johnson of Bay Minette; his father, Ricky Johnson of Bay Minette; four sisters, twin sister, Linda Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Merica Johnson and Deloris Johnson, all of Bay Minette; six brothers, Charleston Williams, Bradley Williams, Tyler Johnson, Rick Johnson Jr., Ricky Caldwell and Shaquille Johnson all of Bay Minette; grandparents Mary Alice Williams of Bay Minette and George Johnson of Mobile.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bay Minette, with the Rev. Elijah Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mutual Aid cemetery, Bay Minette. His body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to funeral service.

Audrey Louise Kizer Arguilez
ATMORE – Audrey Louise Kizer Arguilez, passed away after a long illness on Sept. 9, 2007 in San Diego, Calif.
Born in Atmore in April 3, 1940 she was a native of Atmore and San Diego, Calif. She resided in Atmore for 12 years and moved back to San Diego prior to her death.
Survivors include, her mother, Audrey Kizer of Atmore; and her four children, Audrey Kane of San Diego, Calif.; John (Elizabeth) Arguilez of San Diego, Calif.; Richard (Gloria) Arguilez of San Diego, Calif.; and Debbie (Bill) Drew of Raleigh, N.C.,; one brother, Foster Kizer of Atmore; a sister, Carolyn (Grover) Everette of Atmore; and a sister Frances (Delane) Hartzog of Prattville; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Her father, Joe O. (Pete) Kizer and a brother Andrew Leon Kizer preceded her in death.
A mass was held in San Diego, Calif. and a graveside service will be held in Atmore at a later date to be announced.
I.V. Hayles Mitchem
BAY MINETTE – Mrs. I.V. Hayles Mitchem, 93, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 in Bay Minette.
Mrs. Mitchem was a native of Monroe County, a resident of Stapleton and attended Atmore Branch Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her husband of 41 years, William Richard Mitchem, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Willard Richard Mitchem of Loxley; Leonard D. Mitchem of Clanton; and Joe E. Mitchem of Birmingham; two daughters, Irene Benham of Stapleton; and Wilo – Dean Hastings of Bay Minette; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and her half brother, David Mims of Texas.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with presiding president Harlan Spencer and conducting Richard Benham.
Burial followed at Canoe Methodist cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 at the Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, O. Richard Benham, Jason Benham, Ryan Mitchem, Jared Mitchem, Brian Mitchem and John Leonard Mitchem.
Honorary pallbearers were Justin Mitchem, Tim Spryka, Wayne Mitchem, Kevin Mitchem, Mark Dawson and Walter McNeil.
Jerry Joseph Williams
ATMORE – Mr. Jerry Joseph Williams, 69, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 in Atmore.
Mr. Williams was a native of Uriah and a resident of Atmore for the most of his life. He was a driver for the senior citizens van at Poarch and attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Bonnie Williams of Atmore; his daughter, Tammy Gates of Atmore; 3 grandchildren, Sherry Jo Williams, Samantha Gates and Dillon Johnson, one great grandchild Tikayah Riley and a sister, Anna Mae Rone of Bonifay, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Gehman officiating.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Rusty Williams, Billy Gates, Salvador Perez, Tony Embly, Anthony Bryant and Cory Bryant.
