It was a long trip home from DeFuniak Springs, Fla. for Northview High School's football players, coaching staff and fans.
The Chiefs (1-2, 0-1) suffered an uncharacteristic shutout to Walton High School (3-0, 1-0) on the road, 35-0.
Walton's defense was able to keep Northview's potent offense, powered by its quick and shifty running game, tamed Friday night and put up some lofty numbers to send the Chiefs packing.
"They (Walton) are a good football team," NHS head coach Cody Keene said last week prior to the contest. "They run the zone on defense and they throw the ball well on offense."
The loss makes it two in a row for NHS following a 46-39 loss to Chipley last week.
The Chiefs will attempt to bounce back with a regional game at home against Holmes County. With a win, NHS will capture its first region win of the season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Bratt, Fla. Friday.
