Fun football weekend

First of all, I'd like to say 'Roll Tide!' Being an Alabama graduate, I could not be any more proud of the Crimson Tide football players for coming back and beating Arkansas Saturday.
I had a weekend of football fun that began Friday night. I was a little torn between the Escambia County High School Blue Devils and the T. R. Miller Tigers. I graduated from Miller and my brother-in-law is currently a coach there. For that, I was pulling for TRM. However, I know a lot of the ECHS students and visit the school often being a reporter for the Advance.
I wanted the Tigers to pull out the win because I know with a loss comes a hard week of practice for my brother-in-law, which could make things unpleasant for my sister and niece. But, I do have to say congratulations to the Blue Devils because they played an awesome game and are doing really great this year. Those football players, coaches, cheerleaders, band members and fans seemed so excited after winning Friday night.
The football fun continued Saturday when I watched the Alabama versus Arkansas game. With a lack of knowledge in football, half the time when watching the sport I am not sure what is going on, but I am trying to learn. But, watching the game Saturday night I did know that Alabama played their hearts out and it paid off with a big win. The win of my college alma mater made up for the loss of my high school alma mater.
I know that NFL games are played on Sunday's, but I watch enough football over Friday and Saturday nights to last for a week. But, by Saturday I'll be ready for more football madness. I will be visiting the 'other' school Saturday to watch Auburn play New Mexico State. From what I've heard, Auburn should pull out a win this weekend, unlike when they played South Florida and Mississippi State.
I am happy to attend an Auburn game, even though I am a major Alabama fan. This will be the first college game I've attended since graduating from Alabama in August 2006. I will smugly put on a borrowed Auburn shirt and root the team on. I do wish I were going to be at the Alabama vs. Georgia game instead, but I could not pass up the free tickets to any college football sporting event.
Hopefully Auburn will pull out the win, or else the trip home from Auburn could be a very unpleasant one since I am going with my boyfriend, an Auburn graduate and huge fan.
As for the Blue Devils, good luck against Hillcrest-Evergreen Friday night. Also, good luck to Escambia Academy against Marengo Academy and Northview High School against Holmes County.
I have to also wish good luck to T.R. Miller against Monroe County High School. Hopefully the Miller Tigers can bounce back from the loss against ECHS and take down the Monroeville Tigers.
