Championship series returns to Atmore MX

The Gulf Coast MX and Quad Championship Series returned to the Atmore MX Park this weekend.
Riders, families, and race teams started arriving at the park Friday for test and tune, they held practice on Saturday morning, followed by Quad Racing Saturday afternoon.
The action today will start early with Racers for Christ Church service scheduled for 8 a.m., followed by a riders meeting, hot laps and Motocross racing.
The park will offer free park admission to local church and sports youth groups. Interested parties need to contact Bobby Hadley at 251-295-0057 to be added to list for tickets.
"The Gulf Coast Championship MX &Quad has about 2,000 riders that have participated in the series from all over the Southeast," said park promoter Steve Hicks. "Many of the riders on the quads and bikes are national and regional caliber riders. The Atmore area is slowly becoming a hotbed of talent in the state, with riders from the area doing well at other tracks in the series."
Hicks invited all people interested in enjoying a fun day of racing excitement to come out to the track today and experience the thrill.
This week's race is the final event of the series at the Atmore track. There will be two more events in Wagerville and Tallahassee before the series breaks for the holidays.
