Flu shots given in Walnut Hill Nov. 3
Flu shots will be given Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Ruritan Club. For those with Medicare Part B, flu and pneumonia shots will be free. For those without Medicare, the flu shots will be $30 and pneumonia shots will be $40.

Coupons available at Farmer's Market
The Alabama Farmers Market Authority is reminding coupon recipients of the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) that the deadline to redeem their voucher is Nov. 15.
The $20 vouchers that were issued through the Area Agency on Aging expire next month and cannot be used after that date.
Coupons can be redeemed at the Atmore Farmers Market next to City Hall Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Lions Club selling cheesecakes for $20
The Atmore Lions Club will be presenting Jubilation Cheesecakes which will be delivered the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Call any Lions Club member to order a cheesecake. They are $20 per cheesecake and proceeds will go towards eyeglasses and eye exams. Call Patty Davis at 294-2057 for more information.
Faith Pentecostal hosts revival Oct. 29
Faith Pentecostal located at 3964 Jack Springs Rd. exit 54 will be holding Revival from Oct. 29 until Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. every night. The Evangelist for the week will be Eva Hines of Mobile; pastor is Darlene McMillan.

St. Robert Bellarmine's Catholic Church will hold an open house Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. The event is for anyone who would like to know about the Catholic church or who would like to attend the church.

Concerned Citizens host Haunted House
The Concerned Citizens of Atmore will host a Super Spooky Haunted House from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at 313 North Main Street in Atmore. Elementary school children should come through from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Middle and high school students from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Admission fee is $5 per person. Food, treats and door prizes will be available. Jason, Freddie, the Mad Doctor, Iron Jake, Letherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Wicked Witch of the West will be there. A graveyard will be in the back. The largest spider you've ever seen will also be at the Haunted House.
ANC hosts trick or treating Oct. 31
The Atmore Nursing Center will participate in trick or treating on Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Trunk or Treat held Oct. 31 in McCullough
Trunk or Treat will be held at McCullough Christian Center Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Everything is free. There will be hot dogs, nachos and cheese, drinks and deserts. There will also be rock climbing, a bouncing house, a lot of games, gospel singing and a lot of candy to get out of car trunks.
There will be drawings for door prizes during the entire event.
Coalition against C&S meets weekly
The coalition against C&S Chemicals locating on Woods Road in Atmore holds a meeting every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at New Order Baptist Church.

Catfish fry at Walnut Hill Fire Department
The Walnut Hill Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Catfish Fry from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Walnut Hill Fire Station.
Catfish fillets, grilled chicken, hush puppies, baked beans, cole slaw, homemade bread and cakes will be served for $6 a plate.
There will be baked goods, arts &crafts, door prizes and a drawing at 1 p.m.

A Boston butt roast fundraiser sponsored by the Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department will be held Nov. 3 and 10. Orders will be taken at the Fire Station located at 163 James Road from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. the day of the events or you can place an order anytime by calling Wayne Hubbard at 368-5800 or leave a message at the fire station at 368-5489.
The Boston butts will be ready for pickup on Nov. 17 after 2 p.m. The cost will be $25 all proceeds will go towards the purchase of new equipment for the department.

Hospital hosts jewelry sale in November
Atmore Community Hospital will host a jewelry sale by Phantasia's Nov. 8-9 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Nov. 10 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Mayson Auditorium. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.

Christmas Bazzar slated Nov. 10
The Fourth Annual Christmas Bazzar will be held from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at Guy's Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 55080 Rabun Rd, Bay Minette.
Breakfast items for sale will include sausage biscuits or pancakes with your choice of sausage or bacon. Lunch items will be hot dogs with chips and a drink or a barbeque sandwich with chips and a drink.

Friday night dances at VFW open to public
Friday Night Dances at the VFW are open to the general public for a donation of $5 per participant. Country and soft rock music for dancing is provided by the VFW's Freedom Band. If you like good, clean, safe fun, the VFW Post located at 206 W. Ashley Street is the place to be on Friday nights from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
"Pot luck" finger food and suppers are scheduled occasionally in conjunction with the dances to add to the merriment. Remember the VFW Post in Atmore is the place to be on Friday nights.
