ATMORE – Miss Amanda Bynum, 94, of Atmore died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital in Atmore. She was a member of Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore and she was a nurse's aid for many years and had worked for National Lock Company as an assembly worker in Rockford, Ill.
Her parents, Leonard Bynum and Mariah Bynum, and her brother Willie L. Bynum preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two sisters, Annie L. Bynum of Pensacola, Fla.; and Shirley H. (Roy) McDowell of Atmore.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Willie Hawthorne, Pastor.
Interment followed in the Stall worth Cemetery in Atmore.
Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
Robert Earline Ellis Jr.
Mr. Robert Earline Ellis Jr., 85, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at a Florida hospital.
Mr. Ellis was a native of Flomaton and a resident of Flomaton for most of his life. He retired from L&N Railroad after 43 years of service, was a loving family man and attended the Bethel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Louise Kornegay Ellis.
Survivors include, his wife, Lucille B. Ellis of Flomaton; two daughters, Wanda Ellis (Melvin) Ward of Port St. Joe, Fla. and Christine Ellis (Steve) Stanton of Flomaton; his stepson, Frank (JoAnn) Brown of Columbus, Ga.; his stepdaughter, Sue (Melvin) Crowter of Pensacola, Fla; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and his sister, Juanita Sheffield of Flomaton.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hogg and the Rev. Earle Greene officiating.
Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ford Grissett, Mikey Burkett, Steve Gunde, Larry White, Jason Hart and Ron Freeman. Honorary pallbearers include the Flomaton Fire Department.
