Chiefs drown 'Hawks

The Northview Chiefs easily rolled into the Class 2B playoffs in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. Friday night.
The Chiefs (5-4, 3-1 FHSAA Class 2B, District 1) rode the legs of senior tailback Nakita Myles to a 42-0 victory over the South Walton Seahawks. Myles compiled 195 yards rushing with two touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass from junior quarterback Jeff Price.
Price was 9-for-13 for 159 yards on the night. The Chiefs racked up 302 total rushing yards on the Seahawks (2-7, 1-3).
Myles scored the first touchdown of the game on a 24-yard run. Senior fullback James Lewis rumbled 31 yards for the second touchdown of the game.
The Chiefs poured it on with two more scores before the half. Price connected with Myles for a 65-yard touchdown pass for the third score of the game and sophomore defensive back Tarus Thomas returned a punt 70 yards for the final score of the half, giving NHS a 28-0 lead.
Myles sprinted 80 yards for the end zone in the third quarter and junior wide receiver Jay Jackson found the end zone with a 51-yard run for the final score of the game.
The win seals the No. 2 spot from District 1 in Class 2B for the Chiefs. They will face undefeated Florida State University High School in the first round of the FHSAA Class 2B state playoffs Nov. 16.
Before the playoffs begin the Chiefs will travel to Pensacola to take on West Florida High School next week.
