Santa's not the only one busy

It's Wednesday before Christmas and surely Santa is preparing for his sleigh ride across the world delivering toys to the good boys and girls.
But Santa isn't the only one busy this holiday season.
In the newspaper business, busy is an understatement when Christmas is used in the same sentence. And this year is especially busy since Christmas falls on Tuesday, the Advance's deadline day for its Wednesday edition.
So in addition to the newspaper you are currently reading, the Advance staff will be working hard this week to finish its Sunday edition and also publish next Wednesday's edition, which will hit the newsstands the day after Christmas.
Santa is also depending on the Advance to make sure he receives the letters addressed to him from Atmore youngsters. The letters will be published in the Advance's annual Letters to Santa section inserted in this Sunday's paper.
And if that wasn't enough, final touches are being made to the Newspapers In Education Cute Child Contest Calendar available for purchase in early January.
With that said, we at the Advance would like to extend a warm thank you and a Merry Christmas to all the advertisers and devoted readers that make the newspaper a success.
