Ethel C. Kirkland Clark
CRESTVIEW Fla. - Mrs. Ethel C. Kirkland Clark died on Dec. 28, 2007 at her residence in Crestview, Fla. Mrs. Clark was a machine operator for Textile Mills, born in Cedar Creek on Oct. 19, 1912 to Curtis and Lillian Clark. Mrs. Clark was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Her parents; one brother, Roy W. Kirkland; three sisters, Velma Barnett, Ebie Nell Williams and Grace Burke and one grandson, Alvin Roberson all preceded her in death.
Survivors include, three daughters, Erma Clark Roberson of Pensacola, Fla., Farrell Evelyn Clark of Centre and Martha Angelin Coffey of Crestview, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 2, 2008 at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. C.L. Langford officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Creek cemetery. The family will receive friends at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home today from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Barabra Jean Purvis
ATMORE - Mrs. Barbara Jean Purvis, 66, of Atmore died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 in Atmore. She was a homemaker, born in Escambia County Fla. on April 30, 1941 to the late Johnny Franklin and Dovie Lee Tubreville Kirchharr.
Her parents; one brother, John Kichharr and one sister, Shirley Murphy all preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Robert Edward “Doodle” Purvis of Atmore; three sons, Larry Purvis (Kathy) of Columbia, S.C., John Purvis (Angie) of Pensacola, Fla. and Eddie Purvis (Diane) of Atmore; one brother, Joe Kirchharr of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Clara Messick of Martinville and
Leetha Carnley of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C.L. Langford officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Keleb Purivs, Kris Purvis, Jimmy Purvis, Derek Bell, Billy Wayne Branun and Mitch Johnson.
Family received friends from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 at Johnson- Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc was in charge of all arrangements.
Mary Jane Amos Sanders
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. - Mary Jane Amos Sanders, 69, of Huntersville, N.C. died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at the Brian Center in Mooresville, N.C. She was born on Aug. 10, 1938 in Oak Grove, Fla. to the late Russell and Grace Amos.
She was a graduate of Ernest Ward High School, Pensacola Junior
College and Florida State University. She was employed with the Escambia County, Fla., School Board (Warrington Junior High School) as a math teacher for 10 years. She was a member of Habitat
for Humanity and Lydia’s Loft, which is a clothing ministry of Huntersville First Baptist Church where she was a member. Joan was very involved in mission work. She enjoyed travel, traveling to the Vatican, the Swiss Alps and the Great Wall of China.
Survivors include, her husband, Robert “Bob” Sanders; daughters, Victoria Sanders High (Jay) of Harrisburg, N.C. and Margaret Ann “Maggie” Sanders (Mark) Louisville, Ky. and a sister, Martha A. Carpenter (George) of Oak
Grove, Fla.
Memorials may be made to the Association of Frontotemporal Dementias (AFTD), 100 N. 17th St. Suite 600 Philadelphia Pa. 19103.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at First Baptist Church Huntersville with Dr. Doug Danner and the Rev Spurgeon Dorton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday night at Raymer Funeral Home.

Sheila Brown Marquez
ATMORE - Mrs. Sheila Brown Marquez, 43, of Atmore died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Carolyn Ann Jackson
ATMORE - Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Ann Jackson, 53, of Atmore will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Liberty Baptist Church. The Rev. Lucious Fair will be officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
