FBC Blood Drive Sunday
There will be a blood drive from noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6 at First Baptist Church of Atmore located at 310 South Main Street.
Healing service Jan. 6 at Trinity
A healing service for Mr. Tom Mayer will be held on Sunday January 6 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. The Reverend Martha Kreamer, Rector at The Church of the Advent in Lillian, will officiate. Everyone is welcome. Trinity is located behind Bondurant Hardware on the corner of Carney and Church Streets.
ECHS booster club meeting on Jan. 8
The next Escambia County High School Booster Club meeting will be held on Jan. 8, 2008 at 7 p.m. at David's Catfish.
Vikki Day's Gallery hosts art classes

New Home Church hosts concert
"The Revelators," "Grateful Heart," "New Direction," "Southern Gospel Believers" and others will be in concert at the New Home Church near Monroeville on Dec. 28, from 7 p.m. until. Refreshments will be served and a love offering will be received, but there will be no charge for admission. Revs. Kenneth Johnson and Thomas Smith invite everyone to attend.
New Home Church is located between Repton and Monroeville just north of U.S. Hwy. 84.
Class of 1978 meeting on Jan. 11
A meeting for the Ernest Ward High School Class of 1978 will be held on Jan. 11, 2008 at Bratt Elementary School at 5 p.m.

JDCC hosts beginner dance classes
Jefferson Davis Community College will be hosting dance classes beginning January 2008. A beginning swing class, class number CEU 280-63, will meet each Tuesday beginning Jan. 8, 2008 and ending Feb. 12, 2008 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. The class will be held in the Neal Auditorium on the Brewton campus. The cost for the class is $50.
Beginning cha cha class, class number CEU 280-64, will meet each Thursday beginning Jan. 10, 2008 and ending Feb. 14, 2008 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. The class will also be held in the Neal Auditorium on the Brewton campus. The cost for the class is $50.

Brewton Community Theatre presentation
Brewton Community Theatre presents "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland." Alice journeys into a world of talking animals, comic royalty and races where the contestants run in circles! There's the Mad Hatter's frantic tea party, the watch-carrying White Rabbit and talking flowers. Along the way Alice must deal with a sneezing duchess and a baby that turns into a pig! The finale has Alice watching a trial, but she suddenly finds herself the accused! ALICE gives a modern view to an old classic, where nonsense makes quite good sense. Showdates: Jan. 25th-27th at Jefferson Davis Community College's Woodfin Patterson Auditorium. Showtimes: Friday &Saturday – 7:00 P.M., Sunday 2:00 P.M. Admission is $6.00 for adults &$4.00 for children 12 and younger.
Junior Auxiliary group meetings scheduled
The monthly meeting of the American Legion JUNIOR Auxiliary is held on the first Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. in the Second Floor Activity Room of the American Legion. Any eligible girl under 18 years of age is welcome.
Parents may contact Mary Stanley at 368-5769 to check eligibility or come to the meeting as scheduled.
VFW host Friday night dances
Friday Night Dances at the VFW are open to the general public for a donation of $5 per participant. Country and soft rock music for dancing is provided by the VFW's Freedom Band. If you like good, clean, safe fun, the VFW Post located at 206 W. Ashley Street is the place to be on Friday nights from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
"Pot luck" finger food and suppers are scheduled occasionally in conjunction with the dances to add to the merriment. Remember the VFW Post in Atmore is the place to be on Friday nights.
Atmore Lions looking for new members
The Atmore Lions Club meets the first and third Wednesday for lunch each month at the Atmore Community Hospital. All interested in joining the club are welcome to attend.
Legion meetings second Tuesdays
American Legion meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the American Legion building. If anyone is interested in membership, please call 446-1403 and leave a voicemail.
Atmore Church of God will begin new clubs
The Atmore Church of God is starting a Boys Club and a Girls Club. Ages will range from 5 years through 16 years of age. They are inviting all boys and girls to join the club and enjoy the activities. If you are interested and need further information contact Pastor Glenn Bryars on Wednesday evening or Sunday morning or evening at the Atmore Church of God located at 90 Jack Springs Road in Atmore.
