Mary “Plume” Margaret Dortch
ATMORE - Mrs. Mary “Plume” Margaret Dortch, 62, of Atmore died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at Palliative Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, Fla. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Mary McDonald Dortch
ATMORE - Mrs. Mary McDonald, 62, of Atmore died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at Atmore Community Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Holiness Center.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be directing.
Carolyn Ann Jackson
ATMORE - Carolyn Ann Jackson was born Dec. 21, 1954 in Pineapple to the late Elijah Jackson Sr. and the late Nursarary Jackson. In the year of 1964 she moved to Atmore and later became a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed at Atmore Community Hospital in the Dietary Department when she became ill. Her father, mother and her sister, Marilyn Burston, all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Chandra Johnson of Atmore and Felicia (Corey Sr.) of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Thomas (Shug) Johnson of Atmore, Deontra (Tootsie-Roll) Carter and Corey Jr. (C.J.) of Atlanta, Ga.; one very special devoted niece, Ashley (Puddin) Burston of Atmore; one brother, Elijah (Bubba) Jackson Jr. of Birmingham; four sisters, Delores (Pee-Wee) Jackson, Ella-Mae Jackson and Jackie (Don) Huggins all of Hempstead, N.Y. and Melvin (Sam) Parker of Bay Minette; one brother-in-law, Arthur Burston; one very special devoted uncle, Walter-Lee McCrakin of Atmore; six aunts, Carrie Miller and Eliza Tony, both of Birmingham, Maggie Smith and Pearline Monroe, both of Pineapple, Hattie Turk of Creola and Catherine Jenkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; one very special devoted cousin, Council Jackson Jr. of Bay Minette; several nieces, nephews and cousins and several special devoted friends, Johnny Wayne Dean, Charlotte Matthews, Sharon Bolden, Fannie Lawson, Mannie Hollie and Johnny Williams.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Lucious Fair officiating. Interment followed in Fairview cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews and cousins, flowerbearers were friends.
Final arrangements entrusted to Christian Memorial Funeral Home.
John Edward Jeter
ATMORE- Mr. John Edward Jeter, 57, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007.
Mr. Jeter was a native of Atmore and a resident of Uriah for the past 35 years and attended the Baptist Church. His father, Joe Jeter; a brother, Danny Jeter and his step-father, Willard Cumbie, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his mother, Effie Cumbie of Uriah; three sons, John Edwin “Bubba” Jeter Jr. of Uriah, James Edwin Morris of Nokomis and Mickey D. Hamilton of Atmore; two daughters, Jenelle Lynn Jeter of Flomaton and Samantha Jane Jeter of Huxford; 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Earl Jeter of Atmore and four sisters, Sherry Buckhault of Little Rock, Cheryl Matthews of Repton; Marilyn Peavy of Uriah and Patsy Taylor of Excel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 at the Petty - Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles McGhee and the Rev. Mark Whittington officiating.
Burial will follow at the Lindsey cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 at the Petty - Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Quinton Peavy, Larry Peavy, Todd Jeter, Blaine Jeter, Bubba Jeter and Wesley Tuberville.
Honorary pallbearer will be James Morris.
Sheila Brown Marquez
ATMORE - Mrs. Sheila Brown Marquez was born on April 28, 1964 in Atmore to Mr. Luck Jr. Brown and the late Mrs. Willie Bell Brown. She attended Escambia County High School, graduating class if 1983. Her mother, Missionary Willie Bell Brown; her grandparents, Mrs. Mattie Lou Hawkins, Mr. William Howard, Mrs. Katie Lee Dortch and Mr. Peter R. Dortch, all preceded her in death. She received Christ at an early age at True Deliverance House of Prayer in Atmore. She leaves to cherish her loving husband, Mr. Jose Marquez, which united in Holy Matrimony on Aug. 23, 1996. To this union one child was born, Master Cordero J. Brown, her first born son, Mr. Travis R. Brown, employed by the State of Alabama and the National Guard Army and one granddaughter, Little Miss S’Pria Elise Brown; her father, Mr. Luck Jr. Brown; two brothers, Mr. Samuel Brown and Mr. Larry Brown; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Sammy) Brown-Ollison and Mrs. Linda Terry Brown, both of Atmore; three nieces, Ms. Taeneisha Ollison, Ms. Rhonda Dortch and Ms. Stephanie Brown (devoted niece); three nephews, Mr. Thomas Brown, Master Justin Brown and Master Terry Brown; father-in-law, Mr. Jacinto Marquez; mother-in-law, Mrs. Engracia Martinez; brothers-in-law, Mr. Jorge (Marta) Marquez, Mr. Carlos(Anabel) Marquez, Mr. Daniel(Icidra) Marquez, Mr. Jesus (Sofia) Marquez, Mr. Antonio (Miriam) Marquez, Mr. Javier (Yolonda) Marquez, Mr. Ruben (Juana) Marquez and Mr. Victor (Patricia) Marquez, all of Mexico; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, a step grandmother, Mrs. Cassie Dortch, a very spiritual mother, Missionary Annie Bowens and a very special friend, Mrs. Wanda Williams-Riley. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with Bishop A.E. Hawthorne officiating. Interment followed in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were family and friends, flowerbearers were family, friends and classmates.
Bernard R. “Bunt” Martin
CANOE - Mr. Bernard R. “Bunt” Martin, 75, passed away in Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at a Pensacola hospital. Mr. Martin was a native of Troy, a former resident of Martinville and a resident of Canoe for the past three years and attended the Baptist Church. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Martin, preceded him in death. Survivors include, his wife of 44 years, Pearl Martin of Canoe; two sons, Randy Martin and Andy Martin both of Canoe; three granddaughters, Megan Martin, Becky Martin and Melissa Martin; four brothers, Robert Martin of Atmore, Shirley Martin of Canoe, Carol Martin of Atmore and Doug Martin of McDavid, Fla. and two sisters, Lilly Coleman of Mobile and Shelby Jean (Jake) Hatcher of Atmore.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at the Moyeville cemetery with the Rev. Joe Gipson officiating and Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Carol Martin, Billy Rolin, David Coleman, Freddy Lambeth, Issac Rolin and Norman Kennedy.
Elouise Riley
ATMORE - Ms. Elouise Riley, 68, formerly of Atmore, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was educated in the Escambia County School System and she moved to California where she finished her education. She retired from the U.S. Veteran Administration after 34 years of service. Her parents, Jessie Riley and Elizabeth Riley and two brothers, Robin Riley and Jessie Riley preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, three sisters, Barbara Riley of Brooklyn, N.Y., Faustine Moore of Houston, Texas and Minnie Kate Sims of Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Calvin Riley and Kenny Riley, both of Brooklyn, N.Y. and George Riley of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at Turner Funeral Chapel with Alphonse Williams officiating.

Monroe White
ATMORE - Mr. Monroe White, 83, of Atmore died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at Atmore Community Hospital. Services to be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel.
