Lady Chiefs dominate

The Northview Lady Chiefs took a lead late in the first quarter Thursday against W.S. Neal and did not give up that lead en route to a 48-27 thrashing of the Eagles.
NHS (12-5) scored the first points of the game and was down 4-2 at one point, but by the end of the first quarter the score was 6-4 in favor of the Lady Chiefs.
They outscored Neal 11-3 in the second quarter for a 17-7 halftime lead. A 15-7 advantage in the third quarter pushed the NHS lead to 32-14 and both teams exploded in the fourth quarter with NHS coming out on top 48-27.
Jones said the hustle and intensity the girls showed was great.
Junior Gabe Wesley led the scoring with 18 points. Junior Timeka Marshall added 8 points. Junior Shelbi Wiggins and Shaniqua Jones each contributed 6 points. Junior Brittney Thompson and sophomore Angela Rodriguez each scored 3 points and Megan Rayn scored 1 point.
The Lady Chiefs traveled to Pensacola for a matchup with Catholic High School Friday and the results will be in an upcoming Advance. Up next for NHS is a game against Jay Jan. 17 with tip off at 3 p.m. in Bratt.
