A 21-year-old white male from the Atmore area was taken to Baptist Hospital by LifeFlight after crashing an ultralight in a field near the McCullough crossroads Sunday afternoon.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Department, witnesses of the accident saw the aircraft circling the area until it crashed in the open field.
The accident is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
