Thomas Sidney Ard
BRATT, Fla. – Mr. Thomas Sidney Ard, 65, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at a local hospital. Mr. Ard was a native of Chumuckla, Fla., a former resident of McDavid, Fla., a resident of Bratt, Fla. for the past five years and attended the baptist church.
Survivors include, his wife, Catherine C. Ard of Bratt, Fla.; three brothers, Roland Ard of Ft. Rucker, Jerry Ard of Bearineau Park, Fla. and R.J. Ard of McDavid, Fla. and a sister, Bessie G. Tedder of Milton, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. R.C. Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Ard Field cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joe Howard, Jessie Tedder, Donnie Tedder, Nicholas Tedder, Jimmy Kowalski and Tharon Ard.
Alice Bryant
ATMORE – Mrs. Alice Bryant, 71, of Atmore died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at Holy Community Center with Bishop Jimmy C. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview cemetery in Atmore. Turner Funeral Chapel LLC will be directing.
Harlan Crutchfield
BYRNEVILLE, Fla. – Mr. Harlan Crutchfield, 67, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at a local hospital. Mr. Crutchfield was a native of Geneva, a former resident of Atmore and a resident of Byrneville, Fla. since 1993. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Carney 549, the York Rite, a retired meat cutter and attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include, three sons, Wayne Crutchfield of Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas., Donald (Rhonda) Crutchfield of Ocala, Fla. and Steve (Sherry) Crutchfield of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Sharon Maxwell of Smyrna, Tenn. and Cheryl (Elmer) Tomasek of Pensacola, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Don C. (Darlene) Crutchfield of Pensacola, Fla. and a special friend and companion, Dorothy "Miss D' Sutton of Bratt, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 6, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Alan Wolf and the Rev. Jeff Dwenger officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb.7, 2008 at Eunola cemetery in Geneva. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Malone, Terry Day, Ken Gunderson, John Elton Killam, Dawn Malone and Randy Dorriety.
Brother Henry Lee Murkey
ATMORE – Brother Henry Lee Murkey was born on April 21, 1935. He departed this life on Jan. 17, 2008. He worked for Alto Products Company for 34 and half years.
He leaves in bereavement, wife, Juanita Murkey of Atmore; Henry and Frank Wallace, Anthony and stepson, Charles (Kathy) Williams; daughters, Tara and Erica; brothers, Willie Frank Murkey, TJ (Juanita) Murkey, Al (Bertha) Murkey and Owen (Isabel) Murkey; sister Emma Fisher and a host of stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 t the Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Al Murkey officiating. Interment followed in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends. Christian Memorial Funeral Home directed the services.
Alfreda Lee Martin Gulley
PERDIDO – Mrs. Alfreda Lee Martin Gulley, 57, of Perdido died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008. Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be directing.
Monroe (Money) Flowers
ATMORE – Monroe (Money) Flowers, 50, was born to the late Eddie and Ruby Lee Flowers on Jan. 12, 1958. Mr. Monroe Flowers was entered into eternal rest on Friday. Jan. 25, 2008. Monroe accepted Christ at an early age at McCullough Baptist Church in McCullough, under the leadership of the Rev. John A. Thames. Monroe can best be remembered as a friendly, fun loving and a very outgoing person.
Survivors include, three sons, Keatric K. Flowers, Joshua L. Hall and Carlos T. Kyles; one daughter, Ieshia Flowers; two brothers, Elbert L. Flowers and Marcuse Flowers of Atmore; two sisters, Wendester (Ricky) Galberth of Hartford, Conn. and Cassandra (John) Craft of Atmore; two step sisters, Katrina Sharp and Tangia Brown, both of Atmore; one grandson, Jikeem Hall; five nephews, Shanarel Flowers, of Springfield, Mass., Jeremy Allen of Thomasville, Chaz Flowers of Hartford, Conn., Arnells Martin of Atmore and Marcus Flowers Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; nine nieces, Akella, Justice, Malyshia Flowers, Catronya Watson of Atmore, LaQuanda Plannt of Stone Mountain, Ga., Dana Plannt of New Britain, Conn., Renae Houston of Jacksonville, Fla. and Florice Finley of Century, Fla.; two uncles, Berome Banks of Atmore and Raymond Banks Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; five aunts, Geneva Banks, Janice Banks, Minnie Banks, Annie Pearl (W.T.) Johnson of Atmore and Magaline Clark of Hartford, Conn.; five great nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his grandparents, Elliot and Clara Flowers and Raymond and Lola Banks; aunts Jessie M. Bishop and Clarissa Harris and niece Katrina J. Flowers. Devoted friends, Glen Brown, Leon Turner, Al Wingard, Gary Forney and Anthony Rudolph and a host of special friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at New Order Baptist Church with the Rev. Sidney Grant officiating. Interment followed in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Lee Jr., Chester Dawson, Sennie Banks, Jr., Darron Jenkins, Steve Jenkins and Willie C. Jenkins Jr. Flower bearers were friends. Final arrangements were entrusted to Christian Memorial Funeral Home.
Kirby Ray Styron
RANGE – Mr. Kirby Ray Styron, 72, of Range died Feb. 1, 2008 in Mobile. He was a retired warehouse manager with Florida Seed, born in Baldwin County, Bay Minette on March 14, 1935 to the late John L. and Lela Bodiford Styron.
His wife, Mabeth L. Styron and a sister, Carolyn Louise Keel preceded him in death.
Survivors include, one son, Donald R. (Janice) Styron; one daughter, Janet (Harold) Allen all of Atmore; grandchildren, Mandy (Freddie) Fails, Ashleigh Holmes, Brandon Holmes, Trenton Styron, Brandon (Angelica) Sells, Jacob Sells and Janet Welch; great grandchildren, Danielle Brooke Fails, Cruz Sells, Alex Sells, Damien Sells, Whitney Warden and Ethan Warden.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 with the Bro. Mike Grindle and Bro. Aubrey White officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
The family requested donations can be made to the Children's Hospital. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
Willie James Knight
ATMORE – Mr. Willie James Knight, 49, of Atmore died Wed. Jan. 30, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Edward Point Christian Church in Century, Fla.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be directing.
