When it comes to celebrating an anniversary, Atmore Vision Center knows how to do it right.
All day Friday was a day of merriment at the Atmore Vision Center as employees held a sixth year anniversary event.
Atmore Vision Center owner Dr. Steve Gross said this is the second time the area business has held an anniversary celebration and he had a few people he would like to thank for making the day memorable.
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce was on hand at the Vision Center for a cake-cutting ceremony. The cake was provided by Heavenly Delight.
Also WNSI radio personality Randy Burgan provided a live remote broadcast.
Another special guest was at the event.
Other than refreshments including the Heavenly Delight drinks, those in attendance Friday were offered a free vision screening by Gross and also 50 percent off most eyeglass frames.
According to event organizer Melissa Overstreet, the free screenings were available in order to let patients know if they needed a full screen.
Those who opted for a free vision screening and then chose to purchase a pair of eyeglasses received a gift bag with their purchase which included a cleaning cloth, lens cleaner, candy, an Atmore Vision Center coffee mug with a bag of coffee and an Atmore Vision Center chip clip.
A drawing was also held and the lucky winners either received a beach towel, Safilo mugs, $10 off or no tax.
Overstreet said hopefully the anniversary event will grow every year.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday attendance numbers were already better than last year, according to Gross. There had already been nearly 100 people to walk through the Atmore Vision Center doors.
Atmore Vision Center is located at 166 Lindberg Avenue. To set up an appointment or for more information about the facility, call 368-8767.
