People of all walks of life came together as one last Thursday night as part of the inaugural “An Evening with the Arts” held at Day Gallery.
Vikki Day, owner of Day Gallery, who organized the event along with Becca Horne with Artists in Communities South and members of the Atmore Visual Arts Association, said the event was well received by the community.
One of the main goals of the event was to bring a wide variety of people together, no matter what their interests are and allow them the opportunity to see the types of artists Atmore has to offer and also give them the opportunity to see their hidden art potential even if they are not interested in the arts.
Day said the event went over so well with the community that she is planning on having another one later this year.
Various other types of art were also on display including sculptures, paintings, photography, stained glass, jewelry, folk art, charcoal art and Native American art.
The event was held in conjunction with the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours.
