Gov. Bob Riley appointed Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Emilie Mims Escambia County probate judge Tuesday afternoon.
Riley called Mims on her cell phone to give her the news, while she was in Montgomery attending the Leadership Atmore Class of 2008's government session.
