Marion Worth Morris
ATMORE - Mr. Marion Worth Morris, 97, died March 22, 2008 at Atmore Nursing Facility in Atmore.
Mr. Morris was born to William Oscar and Mary Jane Morris on April 18, 1910 in Paris, Texas. He was a resident of Atmore and a farmer.
His wife Jettie Campbell Morris and one sister, Eunice Stacey, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Rual Wesley (Bonnie) Morris of Pace, Fla., Dual Earnest (Charolette) Morris and Marion Carlyle (Bert), both of Robertsdale; one daughter, Willene Beck (Jimmy) of Atmore; nine grandchildren, Steve (Pat) Morris of Montgomery, Dan (Sharmon) Morris of Navarre, Fla., Eddie Cole of Atmore, Greg Cole of Atmore, Susan Speir (Bill) of Daphne, Paul Morris (Penny) of Robertsdale, Keith Morris (Sandra) of Robertsdale, Jena Kilgore (Vance) of Brewton and Anita Sandell of Loxley; 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dual Morris and the Rev. Daniel Morris officiating. Burial followed at Huxford (RLDS) cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Jimmy Bishop Thomas
WALNUT HILL, Fla. - Mr. Jimmy Bishop Thomas, 59, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mr. Thomas was a native of Bay Springs, Fla. and a resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. He retired from the city of Atmore.
Survivors include, two brothers, Roy Thomas and Paul Thomas, both of Walnut Hill, Fla.; six sisters, Sarah Schwartz of San Antonio, Texas, Betty Morris of Canoe, Polly Harphant of Atmore, Corrine Boggs of Walnut Hill, Fla., Arena Dawson of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Molly Mae Glover of Troy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Pinebarren cemetery with the Rev. William Boles officiating. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until graveside services Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Pinebarren Church.
Pallbearers were John Dawson, Travis Dawson, P.J. Thomas, Donald Jackson, Jr. Morris and Joe Bellew.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC was in charge of all arrangements.
Mary Diane Black
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Mrs. Mary Diane Black, 71, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at a Pensacola Hospital.
Mrs. Black was a native of Uriah and a resident of Pensacola, Fla. Her parents and a son preceded her in death.
Survivors include, three daughters, Jean Zhang of Pensacola, Fla., Becky Black of McDavid, Fla. and Gail Williamson of Milton, Fla.; a brother, Sonny Snow of Rocky Hill; a sister, Louise Cobb of Rocky Hill and two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Owen Williamson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel with the Rev. Walter Sheffield officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Springs cemetery. Visitation was held at 1 p.m. until funeral time Friday, March 21, 2008 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were David Williamson, Billy Williamson, David Morgan and Hong Zhang.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC was in charge of directing the services.
Virginia Ostrander
HEADLAND - Mrs. Virginia Ostrander, 84, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 in Abbeville.
Mrs. Ostrander was a native of Neely, Miss., a former resident of Bay Minette and a resident of Headland for the past five years and attended the Landmark Full Gospel Church of Headland. Her husband, the Rev. J.A. Ostrander, and a daughter, JoAnn Ostrander, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Ronnie Ostrander of Neely, Miss. and Milton and Sharon Ostrander of Headland; her daughter, Sharon and the Rev. Harrison Steege of Headland; nine grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren and a sister, Wilma Manning of Saraland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Harrison Steege and Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight, March 26, 2008 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Steege, Jason Steege, Jeremy Ostrander, Cale Gibbs and T.J. White.

Laura Viola Johnson
FLOMATON - Mrs. Laura Viola Johnson, 90, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Canoe and a resident of Flomaton for the past 73 years. She was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Her husband, Joseph W. “Wess” Johnson preceded her in death.
Survivors include, a son, Sam Johnson (Linda) of Flomaton; six daughters, Lois Kennedy (Jay) of Milton, Fla., Jean Donnelly (Jim) of Robertsdale, Ruby Ward of Nashville, Fla., Agnes Odom (Roy) of Flomaton, Eulene Enfinger of Flomaton, Diane Killam (Danny) of Flomaton; one brother, Clark Childress of Gonzalez, Fla.; one sister, Hattie Hudson of Pensacola, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earle Greene officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Dell cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were, Steve Kennedy, Paul Kennedy, Scott Donnelly, Bobby Gholson, Vince Johnson and Greg Odom.

Lillian Johnson
ATMORE - Mrs. Lillian Johnson, 76, of Atmore died Sunday, March 23, 2008.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Uriah on Aug. 14, 1931 to Harvey and Clara Daniels Stacey. Mrs. Johnson worked for Vanity Fair Mills. Her husband, Robert Johnson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Frankie Johnson, Michael Johnson and Terry Johnson, all of Atmore; one daughter, Diane Ward (Roger) of Atmore; one sister, Eunice Fuller of Munson, Fla.; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Lucile Albriton officiating. Burial followed at McCullough cemetery. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Funeral Home.
