Chamber director search begins

The shoes of former Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Emilie Mims will be hard to fill, according to president Allen Walston.
Mims’ last day at the Chamber was Friday after she was appointed as Escambia County probate judge last Tuesday.
After 17 years of Mims’ reign as executive director, the search is on for a new Chamber leader.
The Chamber will be accepting resumes until April 14 at 5 p.m. for the position.
After the committee makes a decision on who the next Chamber director should be, Walston said the six individuals will make a recommendation to the board of directors.
The position of Chamber executive director entails managing day-to-day operations of the organization. The operations include identifying, soliciting and expending monetary and manpower resources.
