Shooting update

According to a spokesperson with the Atmore Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call reporting an altercation at the North Main Mobile Home Park Wednesday afternoon at 6:31 p.m.
Witnesses stated to officers that Jeffery Jenkins, 23, and Ralind Davis, 25, both of Atmore were involved in a physical altercation.
"During the altercation Jenkins pulled a small caliber handgun and fired several shots," the spokesperson said.
Davis was struck by a bullet in one of his legs and a 17-year-old juvenile girl was struck by a stray bullet in the head.
Davis and the 17-year-old girl were transported to Atmore Community Hospital where the juvenile was later transported by Life Flight to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola where she received treatment and was later released.
Jenkins was arrested on two counts of first-degree assault with additional charges pending in this case.
