Golfers ‘chip in’ during ACS golf tournament

Four holes into the K.C. Monroe Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday morning, the gray clouds overhead made way for the sun, making for a beautiful day on the course.
Thirty-two links lovers took on Dogwood Hills Golf Course in Brewton in Atmore Christian School’s annual tournament to see which four-person team could post the lowest score.
The foursome comprised of Greg Joyner, William Joyner, Bobby Johnson and Craig Hillard took home first-place honors in the scramble with a score of 54.12. The team made up of Adam Prestridge, Jonathan Rasberry, Ray Greer and Battles finished runner-up with a score of 56.62. Brent Freeman, Bradley Freeman, Casey Freeman and Alex Meacham rounded out the Top 3 with a score of 59.62.
Bobby Hubbard won the longest drive competition and closest to the pin. Battles also won closest to the pin.

The money raised during the tournament goes towards the school’s general fund.
