Walking towards a cure

Atmore’s Relay For Life was held Saturday, raising $57,331.05 for the American Cancer Society.
Camp was also appreciative to Atmore Nursing Care and administrator Cindy Lee for hosting a survivor’s brunch before Relay on Saturday. She also thanked Winn Dixie for sponsoring the Relay For Life programs and for providing committee members with meals.
There were several organizations involved in Relay For Life including, Atmore First Assembly of God, Atmore Community Hospital, Atmore Nursing Care, First National Bank &Trust, Frontier, Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union, Masland Carpet, Poarch Band of Creek Indians, Regions Bank/Chuck Stevens, Robinsonville Baptist Church and United Bank.
Relay winners included:
Besides raising money to help the fight against cancer, Relay For Life was also an entertaining event that is for a great cause. Camp said the Look Good Lucy contest was one of the onsite fundraisers that was a hoot. There were many participants in the contest who modeled wigs, hats, etc. and all were donated to Atmore’s loaner closet at Greenlawn Home Health Care.
