Estelle Johnson Cox
ATMORE - Estelle Johnson Cox, 90, of Atmore died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at her residence.
She was a homemaker, born on Feb. 4, 1918 in Mobile to the late Royal and Rosie Hall Johnson. She was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church of Atmore.
Her husband, Dawson C. Cox Jr.; one brother, Wade Johnson, and one sister, Gladys Amos, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, one son, Donald Carl Cox of Jena, La.; three daughters, Luverne Mosley (Willy) of Grand Bay, Esther McMath (John W.) of Flomaton and Birtho Ragan (David) of Atmore; 11 grandchildren, Virginia Beech, Patricia Baggett, Michael Mosley, Donnie Cox, Kim Morrow, Ryan Cox, Rebecca St. Marie, Melanie Kent, John McMath Jr., Brooke Hawsey and Chandler Ragan; 18 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 from Brooks Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Dewitt Allen officiating. Interment followed in Sullivan cemetery. Active pallbearers were John McMath Sr., John McMath Jr., Willy Mosley, Michael Mosley, David Ragan, Ryan Cox and Chandler Ragan.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Mary Ruth Packer
ATMORE - Ms. Mary Ruth Packer, 76, of Atmore died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at her residence.
She was a native of Wilcox County and attended school in Wilcox County. She was a homemaker.
Her parents, Cora McCants Freeman and Nat Freeman; her husband, Erskine Packer; her daughter, Theresa Freeman; three sisters, Malvenia A. Chatman, Buford Stots and Ida Bonner and one brother, Henry Freeman, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories, seven daughters, Gloria (Harold) Askew, Levada (Nathaniel) Williams, Lorie (Issac) Rice, Nancy (Jerry) Thicklin and Quay (Mario) Fields, all of Atmore and Carolyn Dale and Sharon Hazley, both of Detroit, Mich.; four sons, Alexander Dale and James Dale, both of Detroit, Mich., Orlando (Sheryl) Dale and Erskine Packer Jr., both of Atmore; one sister, Rosa Wallace of Atmore; 27 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Benjamin Stallworth officiating and the Rev. Willie Hawthorne host Pastor. Public viewing was held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment followed in the Stallworth cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore directing.
Sister Evie O’Neal Gandy
ATMORE - Sister Evie O’Neal Gandy was born Oct. 20, 1920 to the late Mr. and Mrs. George and Mattie Gandy.
Evie was a domestic worker, where she served at McArthur Motel for 30 years.
Her parents, George and Mattie Gandy; four children, O’Neal Gandy, Orchnell (Julius) Squall, Clauzell (Gloria) Gandy and Regina Gandy; five sisters, Ida Coleman, Willie Mae Hood, Roxanne Atchinson, Amenia (Leon) Walker and Cynthia Jones; four brothers, Zeno Gandy, Vernon Gandy, Edward Gandy and James (Eddiebell) Gandy, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Clarence Gandy; two sisters, Mattie Dawson of Monticello, N.Y. and Virgie (Jimmy) Watson of Bay Minette; two brothers, the Rev. Andrew (Octavia) Gandy of Richmond, Va. and the Rev. Jim (Carol) Gandy of Montecello, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; two devoted god daughters, Satah Gandy and Angela Gandy Jones; a devoted great granddaughter, Martha (Orlando) Bogan, all of Bay Minette; a devoted great grandson, Darrel (Monique) Gandy of Columbus, Ga.; a devoted nephew, Charles (Lisa) Gandy of Columbus, Ga.; a devoted friend, Annie Ikner of Bay Minette and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Faith Community Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Norman Washington officiating. Interment followed at Crossroad cemetery in Bay Minette. Pallbearers were nephews and flower bearers were family and friends.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
William Robinson Sr.
ATMORE - Mr. William (Fifty) Robinson Sr., a resident of Atmore, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Mobile Infirmary. Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Mary Lee Payne
ATMORE - Mary Lee Payne, 86, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Atmore Community Hospital.
She was affectionately known to all that knew her “Honey.”
Her husband, Elijah Payne; daughters, Marie Payne Thomas, Minnie Payne Jones and Laura Payne Roberts and sons, Richard Payne and John Henry Payne, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Arthur White of Biloxi, Miss.; a daughter, Mary Lee Payne of Atmore and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services are to be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Fairview cemetery.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Harvey Edward Lisenby
ATMORE - Harvey Edward Lisenby, 72, of Atmore died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his residence.
He was a heavy equipment supervisor with Fluor-Daniel for more than 40 years and was born in Escambia County on April 18, 1936 to the late Frank and Omer Grissett Lisenby. He was a member of Carney Lodge, a member of Hadji Shrine of Pensacola and a past member of Abba Shrine of Mobile.
His wife of 47 years, Adell Gibson Lisenby; one sister, Christine Lisenby Fillmore; three brothers, Herman Lisenby, William A. Lisenby and Jimmy D. Lisenby and one nephew, Kenneth Fillmore, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Marjorine Watson Lisenby of Atmore; one son, Harvey Dale Lisenby (Tina) of Atmore; one daughter, Pamela Etheridge (Bernard) of Lottie; one brother, Curtis Lisenby of Wallace; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two step-sons and eight stepchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 from Johnson-Quimby-Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Gibson and Bro. Leo Kent officiating. Interment followed in Serenity Gardens. Active pallbearers were Mike Helton, Rodney Helton, Steve Lisenby, Jeremy Lisenby, Kevin Fillmore and Keith Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Gohagin, Dewey Fowler, Rosco Helton L.J. Watson Jr. and Jimmy Guin.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby-Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Community Hospice of Baldwin Co. at 311 D’Olive Street, Bay Minette Al 36507.

Michael F. Smith
BYRNEVILLE, Fla. - Mr. Michael F. Smith, 54, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at a Pensacola, Fla. hospital.
Mr. Smith was a native of Defuniak Springs, Fla., a resident of Byrneville, Fla. for the past 18 years and attended the Methodist Church.
A daughter, Kalyn Smith, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Tammy Jo Smith of Byrneville, Fla.; three sons, Cody Smith, Clay Smith and Chad Smith, all of Byrneville, Fla.; his daughter, Cloe Smith of Byrneville, Fla.; a brother, Roger Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Rebecca Smith Wade of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Vera Presley of Byrneville, Fla. and a number of brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Hensel and Bro. Terry Levins officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville Methodist Church. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Tony Levins, Terry Levins, Todd Levins, Brady Levins, Jody Levins and Zach Carter.
Carlene Kelly
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Mrs. Carlene Kelly, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Pensacola, Fla.
Mrs. Kelly was a native of Florence, a former resident of Byrneville, a resident of Pensacola, Fla. for the past 28 years, a renowned artist, master cosmetologist and cosmetologist for competitive and local beauty operator, a Florida realtor and attended Olive Baptist Church. Of all her accomplishments, her greatest love was her love for her family.
Her husband, Charles Kelly, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two daughters, Barbara Kelly and Betty Manis, both of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, James Watson of Florence, Monty Watson of Olive Branch, Miss and Mickey Watson of Killen and three sisters, Londale Twitty of Hot Springs, Ariz., Joe Green of Falls Church, Va. and Gwendolyn Jones of Killen.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Byrneville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Hensel officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville Methodist cemetery with Petty Funeral Homes, LLC directing.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Lizzie Ann Faulkner
BAY MINETTE - Mrs. Lizzie Ann Faulkner, 61, of Bay Minette died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Priscilla Robinson Johnson
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Mrs. Priscilla Robinson Johnson a resident of Pensacola, Fla. and native of Atmore died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Baptist hospital. Services will be held Monday, May 12, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at Gaines Chapel Church.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
