The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is conducting a “Buy a Brick” fundraiser, which will assist in providing money for future Chamber projects.
Area residents who would like to have the memory of a lost loved one or who would like to honor someone near and dear to them can purchase a brick for $100 that will be placed in the downtown sidewalks in Atmore for everyone to view.
According to the Chamber, finished bricks will be laser engraved with the information provided and every brick measures 4 X 8 inches and is 2.25 inches thick.
If an area resident would like to give a brick to someone to honor them or would enjoy having a brick in their home or office area in honor or memory of someone, donor bricks are available also. Donor bricks are duplicate bricks with a felt back. Donor bricks cost $30 and each one comes with a display stand.
To go with the donor bricks are donor certificates, which can be purchased for $5 a piece. The certificates can be used as a display by the brick donor or can be given to someone who is honored with a brick.
The bricks will include three lines, consisting of 18 characters. Spaces, periods, commas, etc. do count as characters.
Individuals interested in forever honoring or memorializing someone in their hearts should pick up an order form at the Chamber office, located at 501 S. Pensacola Ave. in the YMCA building. Or go online at www.bricksrus.com/order/atmorechamber to place an order. Major credit cards are accepted.
For more information, call the Chamber office at 368-3305.
