White Sox slip past Poarch, 4-3

The Alto Products White Sox outscored Poarch 4-3 in the sixth inning Monday night to come away with a narrow 6-5 victory in Cal Ripken Minor League action.
Outfielder Rashawn Flavors slapped a single, driving home Demetrius Freeman for the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to claim the victory. Johnny Stephens led the Sox with a home run, single and one run scored.
Ryan Johnson had a double for the winning team, while Marlon Lee, Justin Johnson, Freeman and Flavors chipped in with one single each.
Xan McGhee’s home run, two singles and two runs scored led Poarch, sponsored by Ray Ward Construction. Tyler Jackson legged out a triple, hit a single and scored one run and Wyatt Rutherford chipped in with a double. Colton Peebles finished with a single.
Cardinals 13
Braves 6
Third baseman Gayton Thames’ home run, triple, single and four runs paced the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals to a 13-6 win over the Chuck Stevens Chevrolet Braves Monday evening.
Brandon Cummings displayed his speed with a triple, two singles and scored one run for the Cards. Maleek Salter also finished with a triple, Eric McCaskill with a double and Jackson Brekenridge added two singles. Brad Quimby, Adrian King and Nathan Jurjavich each chipped in with one single.
Weston Milstead led the Braves with a triple and one single. Noah Brooks finished with a double in the win and Jamal Richardson finished with a single.
White Sox 3
Lions 1
Ryan Johnson smacked a home run, double and scored two of the Alto Products White Sox’s three runs to lead his team to a 3-1 win over the Swift Supply Lions on May 9.
Devon Robinson, Freddrerick Flowers, Marlon Lee and Derrick Kidd each chipped in with one single. Robinson also scored one run.
Kuron Frye led the Lions with two singles and LaShaun Robinson added a single and one run scored.
Cardinals 9

Catcher Eric McCaskill hit a home run, single and scored two runs to lead the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals to a narrow 9-8 victory over Poarch on May 9.
Derrick Arnold also finished the night with two hits; a double and a single and scored one run. Jackson Brekenridge, Trae Lee and Nathan Jurjavich each finished with one single. Bradon Cummings and Lee each scored two runs and Brad Quimby and Maleek Salter scored one run apiece.
Xan McGhee led Poarch with a triple, single and two runs scored. McGhee also reached second on an error. Trennon Hamilton and Wyatt Rutherford each added a double and a single. Rutherford also scored two runs.
Tyler Jackson, Tyler Sells, Tanner Jackson and Colton Peebles chipped in with one single each for Poarch.
Lions 13
Poarch 3
The Swift Supply Lions’ offense came alive on May 8 as they took the lumber to Poarch, 13-3.
Infielders Jamaya Frye and David Dobson combined for six hits and five runs to lead the Lions to victory. Frye finished the night 3-for-3 with a double, two singles and two runs scored, while Dobson added three singles and three runs.
Justin Walden finished with a two-hit performance, slapping a double, single and scoring three runs. Christian Thorpe, Chris Hollinger and Tyler Wilson each finished with one single.
Xan McGhee paced Poarch’s offense legging out a triple and one single. Tyler Sells finished the night with one single and crossed the plate twice and Kolby Flurnoy added a single.
White Sox 10
Braves 6
The Alto Products White Sox capitalized on numerous errors by the Chuck Stevens Chevrolet Braves to score five runs in the last inning to pull out a 10-6 win on May 8.
Ryan Johnson and Devon Robinson each finished with three hits to lead the Sox. Each of the infielders hit a double and had two singles. Johnson scored two runs and Robinson scored once.
Marlon Lee chipped in with a double and one run scored for the White Sox.
Weston Milstead, Brantly Geck and Anthony Beckem each led the Braves with one single. Geck also scored one run. Noah Brooks crossed home plate twice to record two runs.
