Lucy Harville Taylor
RABUN - Lucy Harville Taylor, 90, of Rabun died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at her residence.
She was a retired seamstress with Vanity Fair Mills, born in Rabun on Sept. 5, 1917 to the late John and Sallie Stewart Harville.
Her husband, Leslie Taylor; two sons, Jimmy Taylor and John William Taylor and one infant daughter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, four daughters, Marie Stacey of Rabun, Sally Sprinkle and Jeanette Millstead, both of Bay Minette and Shirley Hadley-Hamilton of Rabun; 22 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from The New Providence Church in Rabun with Bro. Charles Lewis officiating. Interment followed in Dean Cemetery.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until service time Monday evening, May 26, 2008 at the New Providence Church.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
Walter Buford Quimby
McCULLOUGH - Walter Buford Quimby, 89, of McCullough died Saturday, May 24, 2008 in Atmore.
He was a retired correctional officer with the State of Alabama, born in Monroe County on Jan. 14, 1919 to the late Alfred and Nettie Vickery Quimby.
His wife, Ruby Burke Quimby and one bother, Raymond Quimby preceded him in death.
Survivors include, one son, Stan Quimby (Sandra); one daughter, Peggy Q. Weaver (Donald Ray), all of McCullough; seven grandchildren, Ben Quimby, Wendy Weaver, Lyn Baggett (Jimmy), Jon Quimby (Heidi), David Quimby, Joey Quimby and Matthew Quimby; two great grandchildren, Brittany Baggett and Brandon Baggett and one brother, Burl V. Quimby (Willene) of Chatum.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Henry Wilson, Bro. Richard Daniels and Bro. Byrd Mapoles officiating. Interment followed in McCullough cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ben Quimby, Jon Quimby, David Quimby, Joey Quimby, Matthew Quimby, Jimmy Baggett and Jeff Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Robinson, Sonny Moore, James Caraway, Henderson Caraway, Marlin Mack, Tim Currie, Murray Daniels, Claude Weaver and Clarence Weaver. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Benjamin Joseph “B.J.” Martin
CHICKASAW – Mr. Benjamin Joseph “B.J.” Martin, 29, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 in Chickasaw.
Mr. Martin was a native of Century, Fla., a former resident of Crestview, Fla., a resident of Chickasaw for the past three months, a member of the Union Local #89 of Mobile and he attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church and the Center Pointe Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kristina Marie Martin of Chickasaw; three sons, Alex Martin and Dylan Martin, both of Crestview and Isaac Martin of Chickasaw; two daughters, Bell Martin and Ana Martin, both of Chickasaw; mother, Patricia Rydzowski of Century, Fla.; three brothers, Chuck Day, Shannon Martin and Adam Martin, all of Flomaton; two sisters, Robi Carden of Jay, Fla. and Vicki Harris of Wiggins, Miss.; many nephews, nieces and great nieces.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Spence Walker officiating.
Burial will follow at Polar Dell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Day, Shannon Martin, Adam Martin, Isaiah Day, Paul Smith and Ron Collingsworth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Carden, Pete Carden, John Chavers and Christopher White.
Harold “Gene” Eugene Lloyd
SLIDELL, La. - Harold “Gene” Eugene Lloyd of Slidell, La., passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the age of 29.
Lloyd was the husband of Patricia Conner Lloyd, the father of Samantha Marie Lloyd. He was the son of Barbara Johns Lloyd and Frank Lloyd and grandson of Mary Johns. His brother was James Edward Lloyd.
Lloyd was a native of Flomaton and a resident of Slidell, La., for the past 24 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, located at 1751 Gause Blvd. West in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell, La., on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday at noon until the funeral time.
