Walnut Hill Church VBS continues
Walnut Hill Mennonite Church will host Vacation Bible School for children 5 years old up to 10th grade on June 2-13 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Hendersons will perform today
The Hendersons will be in concert on Sunday June 8 at Bratt Assembly of God Church. The group will take stage at 11 a.m. and lunch will follow.
The church is located 5154 Hwy 4 in Bratt, Fla.

Mt. Olive to host Mission Day
Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church will host a Mission Day Program June 8 at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited. Choirs are asked to render an A/B section.
Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church is located at 248 Pouncey Road in Atmore. Chairperson is Barbara Poole Harris and the Reverend is Monroe Tucker Jr., pastor. Mistress of ceremony will be Thelma Grant of Gaines Chapel AME.

Sardis VBS slated begins tomorrow
Sardis Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School June 9-13 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for Pre-K children through sixth grade. Adults will have Bible study on Wednesday evenings through the month of June. The youth will have Bible study on June 6.
Gaines Chapel hosts VBS June 9-13
Gaines Chapel AME Church would like to extend an invitation to you to attend their annual Vacation Bible School. Gaines Chapel will be a tropical island where the Champions for Jesus will be in attendance.

Bonner staffer to visit city June 10
A staff member from the office of U.S. Representative Jo Bonner (R-AL) will be making two stops in Escambia County on June 10. The purpose of these visits is to meet with any constituents who may be experiencing difficulties with the federal government and who are seeking the congressman’s assistance in resolving these problems. The representative will be available at Atmore City Hall between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and at Brewton City Hall between 11 a.m. and noon.

Benefit yard sale to be held June 13
There will be a benefit yard sale and hot dog lunch for Stephanie McMillan at the Atmore Nursing Center on June 14 from 6 a.m. until. Rain or shine! Donations will be accepted June 13. See the activities department for more details.
All proceeds will go to McMillan to assist with medical expenses.
Beulah Camp to host Master’s Men
The Master’s Men will be in concert at Beulah Camp Ground June 14 at 7 p.m. The camp meeting will run from June 12-22 with services at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Beulah Camp is interdenominational and is located one mile south of Hwy. 84 between Repton and Excel.
First Presbyterian VBS begins June 16
The First Presbyterian Church will hold VBS June 16-20 from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Children ages 2 through sixth grade are invited to attend.
FPC’s theme for this year’s event is “Faith Expedition Vacation Bible School.” “Faith Expedition VBS” is about following Chris and Kelly, two young explorers, through thrilling adventures on their way to discover God’s treasure.
FPC is located at 208 E. Horner St. in Atmore.

Robinsonville VBS slated for June 16-20
Robinsonville Baptist Church Vacation Bible School 2008 will be held June 16-20 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The theme this year is Outrigger Island. Pre-register online at robinsonvillebc.org.
BOE committee to meet June 25
The Escambia County Board of Education’s Federal Programs Advisory Committee will meet June 25 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Atmore Central Office, located at 501 S. Pensacola Ave.

The Escambia County High School Class of 1998 will have a meeting on June 29 at Chen’s Buffet at 5 p.m.

Grand School reunion June 26-29
The J.F. Shields/MCTS Grand School Reunion will be June 26-29 in Beatrice. Thursday night will be hospitality night in the school band room beginning at 7 p.m.

First Presbyterian hosts Bible Study
The Atmore community is invited to the study, “Vertically Inclined: Climbing Higher with God” by author, Mary Kassian. This exciting, seven-session, video-based study is especially designed to show Christian women how, by tethering themselves more securely to Him, they can climb to greater spiritual heights.
Along the way, participants will be challenged to: develop an increased loyalty to Christ and His work; to examine their values and renew their determination; to take steps to increase their love for Christ, and to enjoy Him more.
The study begins June 25 and will run for seven weeks, meeting each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church on Horner Street. Childcare will be provided and the cost of the study book is $15.

Class of ‘58 to hold reunion July 5

Fiddler’s Convention to be held July 19

Trinity Episcopal Church’s Vacation Bible School will be held July 21-25 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
