First Presbyterian VBS begins June 16
The First Presbyterian Church will hold VBS June 16-20 from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Children ages 2 through sixth grade are invited to attend.
FPC’s theme for this year’s event is “Faith Expedition Vacation Bible School.” “Faith Expedition VBS” is about following Chris and Kelly, two young explorers, through thrilling adventures on their way to discover God’s treasure.
FPC is located at 208 E. Horner St. in Atmore.

City pool to hold second registration
Tom Byrne Park pool will hold the second registration session for swimming and tennis June 16 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the pool.

Beulah Camp to host Master’s Men
The Master’s Men will be in concert at Beulah Camp Ground June 14 at 7 p.m. The camp meeting will run from June 12-22 with services at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Beulah Camp is interdenominational and is located one mile south of Hwy. 84 between Repton and Excel.
Pine Barren Baptist Church to host VBS
Pine Barren Baptist Church in Davisville, Fla. will host Vacation Bible School June 16-20 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Zion Star A.M.E. VBS begins June 16
Zion Star A.M.E. Zion Church Vacation Bible School cordially invites everyone to join them for Vacation Bible School from June 16-19 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. On June 20 the children will enjoy a night of pizza and skating. The theme this year will be “Remembering the 10.” There will be a beginner’s class, intermediate class and an adult class. Join the church as they revisit the Ten Commandments.
Coalition to meet June 21 in Brewton
The June Coalition meeting will be held June 21 at 7 a.m. at D.W. McMillan Hospital in the Strandell Conference Room.
Robinsonville VBS slated for June 16-20
Robinsonville Baptist Church Vacation Bible School 2008 will be held June 16-20 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The theme this year is Outrigger Island. Pre-register online at robinsonvillebc.org.
Church plans 100 Women in White
Dear Church, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Pastor, officers and members, Lutheran Women Missionary League Society and members of all the Ladies in your Church to wear white and join us on the fourth Sunday, June 22 at 3 p.m. in celebration of 100 ladies in white.

ECMS to host Visionaries concert
Visionaries Production will present the 2008 Summer Gospel Explosion featuring George Dean &the Gospel Four of Memphis, Tenn. live in concert along with Atmore’s own, The Visionaries, at 3 p.m. on June 22 in the Escambia County Middle School gymnasium. Also performing will be the Knight Family and The Perryman Singers of Mobile.
MC for the event will be the anointed mistress of Gospel, Lady Jarmond.

Muscogee Boys to perform June 28
Bay Springs Full Gospel Church will hold a singing June 28 at 6 p.m. featuring the Muscogee Boys and local talent. Also, there will be a benefit for Bro. Joe Welch held that same night. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a co-ed softball tournament on June 28 in Bradberry Park. There is a $200 entry fee and participants will hit core 47 softballs.

The Escambia County High School Class of 1998 will have a meeting on June 29 at Chen’s Buffet at 5 p.m.

First Presbyterian hosts Bible Study
The Atmore community is invited to the study, “Vertically Inclined: Climbing Higher with God” by author, Mary Kassian. This exciting, seven-session, video-based study is especially designed to show Christian women how, by tethering themselves more securely to Him, they can climb to greater spiritual heights.
Along the way, participants will be challenged to: develop an increased loyalty to Christ and His work; to examine their values and renew their determination; to take steps to increase their love for Christ, and to enjoy Him more.
The study begins June 25 and will run for seven weeks, meeting each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church on Horner Street. Childcare will be provided and the cost of the study book is $15.

Jay Freedom Run slated for July 4
The Jay Celebrate Freedom 5K and 1-mile fun run will be held at 6 p.m. on July 4 at the Jay City park located at 5259 Booker Lane in Jay, Fla.
Entry fee is $15 if registration is received or postmarked by June 30. Late registration is $20 beginning July 1 through race day.

Class of ‘58 to hold reunion July 5
Escambia County Training School Class of 1958 will host a reunion on July 5 at Weatherford’s Steak House (formally known as Best Western Restaurant). There will be a fee of $55 per person or $100 per couple. Deadline to pay is June 1.

"Miracles" will be the theme of this year's Vacation Bible School at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore. This year's session will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. July 21 through July 25. On Friday the 25, there will be a Family Night celebration.
