Coffee with Sylvia to be held today
An informal but informative chat group. The mission of the Women’s Business Center is the economic empowerment of women by assisting them to start and grow successful small businesses. “Five Can’t Miss Business Trends” presented by Sylvia Browder, Wednesday, June 18 - from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Escambia County Industrial Development Authority, 406 South Trammell Street, Atmore.
Coalition to meet June 21 in Brewton
The June Coalition meeting will be held June 21 at 7 a.m. at D.W. McMillan Hospital in the Strandell Conference Room.
Mason cookout slated for Saturday
There will be a birthday cookout for Estelle Mason of Atmore June 21 at 108 2nd Ave. from 3 p.m. until.
Huxford VFD to host fish fry Saturday
The Huxford Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual catfish fry from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on June 21 at the fire station located on Old Front Street in Huxford.
Plates will cost $6 with all proceeds benefiting the fire department.
Church plans 100 Women in White
Dear Church, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Pastor, officers and members, Lutheran Women Missionary League Society and members of all the Ladies in your Church to wear white and join us on the fourth Sunday, June 22 at 3 p.m. in celebration of 100 ladies in white.
The church is asking your choir or musical group to render an a and b section.

ECMS to host Visionaries concert
Visionaries Production will present the 2008 Summer Gospel Explosion featuring George Dean &the Gospel Four of Memphis, Tenn. live in concert along with Atmore’s own, The Visionaries, at 3 p.m. on June 22 in the Escambia County Middle School gymnasium. Also performing will be the Knight Family and The Perryman Singers of Mobile.
MC for the event will be the anointed mistress of Gospel, Lady Jarmond.

Broadhead to perform Sunday
There will be a Sunday evening Singspiration at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God, located at 2311 Hwy. 4A in the Byrneville community on June 22 at 6:30 p.m. Corrie Patterson, daughter of pastor Ron and Cynthia Broadhead, will be the featured singer for this special night of ministry. Corrie and husband, Terry, and their two sons reside in Blairsville, Ga.
Pastor Ron and Cynthia Broadhead, along with the congregation of Beulah Chapel invites everyone to come out and enjoy the ministry in song during this anointed service.
Greater Mt. Triumph Youth Day Sunday
The Youth Department of Greater Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating Youth Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Dion Culliver of New Pilgrim Baptist Church, located in River Falls. Everyone is cordially invited to come and help make the occasion a spiritual and memorable one.
Youth revival will be held June 23-25 at 7 p.m.
Magaline Marshall is the youth director and the pastor is the Rev. Willie Hawthorne.
Twirl Time to host summer camp
Twirl Time's Summer Camp will be held June 23-25 from 9 a.m. until noon.

The Escambia County Board of Education’s Federal Programs Advisory Committee will meet June 25 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Atmore Central Office, located at 501 S. Pensacola Ave.

Canoe Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. beginning June 29 through July 2.
Class of ‘98 to meet June 29 at Chen’s
The Escambia County High School Class of 1998 will have a meeting on June 29 at Chen’s Buffet at 5 p.m.

Class of ‘58 to hold reunion July 5
Escambia County Training School Class of 1958 will host a reunion on July 5 at Weatherford’s Steak House (formally known as Best Western Restaurant). There will be a fee of $55 per person or $100 per couple. Deadline to pay is June 1.

"Miracles" will be the theme of this year's Vacation Bible School at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore.
This year's session will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. July 21 through July 25. On Friday the 25, there will be a Family Night celebration.

Peacocks offer giveaway to seniors
Peacock Photography will give away a free photo shoot and photo package to one lucky 2009 senior. Stop by the store’s location before July 25 at 100 North Main St. in Atmore to register.
The winner will be announced July 28 and photos will need to be taken before Sept. 19.
The winner will win a free $50 sitting fee, one hour of photographing and one 8×10, two 5x7s and two 4x6s.
