Dirt was flying as the Summer Sizzler revved up on Sunday with quad and dirt bike racers from Alabama, Mississippi and Florida fighting for wins at the Atmore Motocross (MX) Park.
Racing started at 11 a.m. after a morning church service by chaplain Billy Boyer of Racers for Christ and a couple rounds of practice.
Races were cut short by rain around 3 p.m. with all winners of the first moto being awarded trophies and prizes.
Track promoter Stephen Hicks said the weekend went well, but with fuel prices rising the numbers were a little lower.
About 150 riders came to the Atmore MX Park with about 12 listing that they were from the Brewton area.
Hicks said the next summer event will be July 12-13.
He added that it will probably have a turnout of about the same proportion, but will pickup when fall races come around.
