Escambia Academy’s junior varsity girls’ basketball team leaves for a team camp on Thursday.
The Cougars will participate in the camp at Huntingdon College beginning on Thursday and ending with an all day tournament on Saturday.
Head coach Larry Boggs said his team is excited and has been practicing for the camp during the summer.
The lady Cougars are up against the odds being one of the smallest schools participating in the camp.
Boggs said there is one school in EA’s class that will be at Huntingdon, but all the others are larger schools.
He added this team is the youngest and shortest he has coached at EA.
At the camp the team will participate in a number of exercises as well as competitions testing skills.
Boggs said the competitions include a free throw shooting contest as well as a three point shooting contest.
He added that there would be a tournament on Saturday featuring all teams at the camp.
The JV lady Cougars basketball team includes Caitlyn Bruley, Grayson Emmons, Lacie Flowers, Allison Woods, Julia Parish, Niki Bryan, Page Lancaster, Paige Allen, Anna Dobson, Peyton Snider, Julia Thorpe, Jordyan Rice and Allie Brooks.
