The newest addition to ACH Family Physicians is Dr. Mark Ates, who began working at the facility approximately two weeks ago.
Ates graduated from the University of Miami in 1988 with his medical degree. He finished his residency and internship at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia.
Ates said he chose to come to Atmore mostly because of Atmore Community Hospital administrator Bob Gowing.
Ates lives in Jay, Fla. with his wife, Sharon. He has two children, 18-year-old Joseph who recently finished high school and will attend the University of Florida. His daughter is Jamie Martinez, who lives in Atlanta.
Ates knew Gowing from his practice he had in Jay, Fla. and Century, Fla.
Ates has joined Dr. Jonah McIntyre and staff at ACH Family Physicians and is happy about his transition.
